powersthatbeAt player request, we're tossing up this post so there will be a single place for everyone to post and discuss their mingle plans, more easy to reference than plotting on plurk.

Week 4 in a nutshell.
Oct. 15th, 2015 02:24 pmpowersthatbe*Jan picks up a new bounty hunt, with interesting results; he also has a chat with Leon.
*A proxy takes down wanted posters, starting with Phoenix’s.
*Kiran takes a chance out in the storm, and gets himself into a bit of a pickle.
*After rescuing his old friend, the Mantis goes to deal with a loose end from his past and kills Chouko, prompting Leon to attempt a resurrection. (Thorne takes it upon herself to ‘haunt’ the Mantis on her infiltrator persona’s behalf, eventually convincing him to skip town.)
*Fed up with the incapacitating flashbacks, Riddick turns to the network to try to piece the other veterans’ visions together, which unearths a lot of information about the previous jaunt; Naoki points out that Blitzkopf’s wanted poster seems a lot tamer than Phoenix’s (and wonders if he’s even in Nova Venezia to begin with).
*Phoenix herself uses the storm to make a big kaboom, and various people give chase.
*An unusual proxy on an ornithopter races into the storm.
*The Wolves’ Children also use the cover of the storm to avenge the suffering of the Tunguskan prisoners, with their leader waiting for a lull to (rather publicly) dispose of three of the worst offenders.
*Kumiho loses a compass, paving the way for Jaunt Sibling Reunion Number Three (eventually).
*Noting the unusual concentration of lightning on the Flying Market, Jan does a little poking around.
*Nori does not take Thorne trying to stand in for Chouko very well at all.
The Week 5 (and final!) mingle for Lightning Age will be up late this evening,

Oct. 7th, 2015 12:10 ampowersthatbeNaoki breaks the news on the network that there’s at least one Trump hanging around this jaunt. By way of Zed complaining about his prison tattoo, they discover it’s actually at least two - Hanged Man and Chariot. Byerly, who’s gone and said a bit too much to some infiltrators, gets himself kidnapped. Nigel gets murdered; Nergui hosts a Fight Night on the Airship Formerly Known As the Zeitgeist. Katsu engages in a spot of breaking and entering. Liara has an odd flashback when presented with a proxy. Riddick’s Questing Sense points him to Aisha. Nori may not care over much about investigating her mystery box, but Chouko does; she asks Leon about it, and he agrees to have a look.

wholeheadedHELLO okay so part of the whole shebang with this jaunt has been certain Investigators sort of remembering when they have visited a world like this before, a very long pre-Moebius time ago. In concert with that, certain Infiltrators remember an intrepid group of outsiders who influenced certain events a year ago.
Perhaps it is time to coordinate and update what both of these groups have learned, and what they are doing about it. To that end: this plotting post! Below will be sub-threads to disclose both was Investigators have salvaged from their pre-Moebius memories, and what Infiltrators are theorizing about mysterious visitors and what they are planning to do about it.
Pretty much all information shared here is OOC-only, though it can be used to make logical connections where folks are ICly working at parallel purposes. That said if you expressly want other people to be aware of IC actions and are looking to make connections for great plotty justice (hello, self), this would be the place to do so. Unless you STILL want to be sneaky, in which case private messages/plurks are always an option.

The Lightning Age: (The Next Jaunt).
Sep. 5th, 2015 05:42 pmpowersthatbeIt is the Hijra year 1314, the 12th day of Rabi Al-Akhir, and in the Flying Market of Nova Venezia, there is trouble. That is not new. Nova Venezia is a balloon city, tethered above the neutral city-state of Venice, a Vatican protectorate. At first, the balloons were meant only to keep the buildings below from sinking, but the people who maintained them began to build settlements on their platforms, and eventually it became a small but thriving sky-port.
Northern Italy lies at the border of three of the Great Imperial Powers. To the north and east, the Prusso-Zaporizhian Empire, a warrior-state of aerialists whose superiority in the skies is unquestionable. To the south and east, the Golden Khanate, a pan-asian pluralist kingdom who have done things with gunpowder no other nation has dreamed of. To the west, both north and south, the Ummah Caliphate, careful mercantile masters of steam science whose rule circles the Mediterranean.
To all three of the Powers, no resource is more valuable, or weapon more dangerous, than the innovations of the human mind. And the Prussians and Caliphate have both dispatched forces to the Flying Market now seeking weapons of mass destruction.
Captain Phoenix, a pyromaniacal pirate, used to be a servant of the Caliph, may he live forever, before the Captain’s impetuous ways and destructive urges became simply too much. The greatest pyrotechnician in the world, the Captain is a human time-bomb in every sense but the literal, and is hiding in a city held up by vast envelopes of hydrogen gas.
Herr Doktor Kilroy Schweizerkaze Von Blitzkopf was once the greatest aeronautical engineer in the Prussian arsenal, designer of airships which could survive thunderstorms unscathed, until the good Doktor raided designs, arsenal, and fleet, and vanished utterly for causes unknown. Blitzkopf, along with the Masked Senseis of Uchinaa, is a master of electricity, deviser of devices which can run on this strange force and not mere hydraulic power or combustion. The nation who owns the Doktor can harness the lightning. But again, not the most comfortable personage to share a balloon with, really.
Into this morass of espionage, manhunt, and international trade; sky pirates, smugglers, and innovators from around the world, a new element has come into the mix. Foreigners not only to the nation, but to the world itself. Paranoids and conspiracy theorists have whispered of their existence for a year, and some in Venezia remember them, and know a few signs and tricks that may be used to identify and get the better of these strange invaders… because knowledge is power, power is money, money is opportunity - and opportunity is about to strike like lightning.
The question is what it will leave behind.
