Welcome to the Synodiporia Test Drive Meme! Below the cuts there are three new prompts, and here are the prompts from previous test-drives, which you’re still welcome to use in this post. Our current app round runs through July 10th. The July-August jaunt will be Paramo Riconquista, in which the pirates, mermaids, and ninjas of Crownbreaker Isle travel to the island city-state of Paramo during Li Festivale Di Riconquista, a raucous local holiday, on a mission of undercover - not to mention undersea - piracy; the Walkabout will be Majesty’s House Cup, a return visit to a school for the magical arts.

Prompt #73 is from the beginning of the Paramo Riconquista jaunt: with mermaid Sirens singing the Litany of Breath, they and their pirate companions travel through the shoals near Paramo - underwater.
Prompt #74 features a rather quiet iteration of Liminal Space.

Our upcoming app round runs March 3-10. The upcoming jaunt is The Question of Albion, where shenanigans caused by a secret magic circle complicate what is meant to be a standard transfer of power.

Prompt #68 is set in the Labyrinthine Shoals, a Jaunt world where pirates, mermaids, and the occasional exiled ninja struggle against evil empires above and below the waves.
Prompt #69 is not a Liminal Space. It is merely a description of a Liminal Space.

Our current app round runs October 29th–November 6th. Our next Jaunt will be Dawnbreak Boulevard, a dramatic showbiz experience, set in mid-twentieth-century Hollywood and full of both glitz and glamour. The accompanying walkabout, Shade’s Retreat, is a murder-mystery-esque hunt for a shapeshifting entity roaming an inn.

Prompt #64 is a seasonal liminal space with some surprise visitors.
Prompt #65 is set in the world of the Pogemon jaunt, where superpowered creatures and their human partners are taking place in a partnership-fueled competition.

Our upcoming app round runs February 24 - March 3. Our next Jaunt will be the Triad Creation Tourney, an inter-school competition set in a world where creativity and magic are literally the same thing. However, this show of friendliness, international cooperation, and arcane artistry is ripe for sabotage and cheating.

Prompt #60 takes place in the world of the upcoming Triad Creation Tourney and features dormitory assignments at Lone Star Academy.
Prompt #61 is a liminal space in which the rules of motion are constrained by headgear.

Our upcoming app round runs September 16th–26th. Our next Jaunt will be Night Falls on Yensid, a fantasy Jaunt taking place in a formerly magic kingdom whose history went awry when other Travelers failed to properly complete a previous Jaunt there, one of the many forgotten Jaunts from before Synodiporia properly began as a Dreamwidth game. There will be no Walkabout run alongside this Jaunt.

Prompt #55 takes place in a punishment Liminal Space for a Jaunt that the Travelers failed to solve.
Prompt #56 takes place during the first Jaunt the Travelers made to the Kingdom of Yensid, during its Golden Age.

Our upcoming app round runs May 24th–June 1st. Our next Jaunt is Showtime!, a 1980s rock-and-roll romp with a light sci-fi element that features, among other things: rival bands with secrets to hide, shadowy government agents in pursuit of an uncanny fugitive, and at least one alien who’s lost their ability to phone home.

Prompt #50 features an explosive liminal space, where getting to close to the flames has consequences.
Prompt #51 takes place in the world from our upcoming Jaunt and features a warm summer night at the Santa Carlita Beach Boardwalk.
Prompt #52 takes place in the world of the Lightning Age: a alternate universe steampunk setting in which the colonial empires that ruled the world in its equivalent of the 19th century are the opposite of the ones from our own.

Our upcoming app round runs January 28th–February 4th, during which time the current members of the game will be voting on the next Jaunt. The current options are: Beastfolk: A Pastoral, in which a village of half-humans grapple with questions of survival; Gransalis Abbey, in which medieval talking animals come into conflict; and Pogemon, in which dueling monsters that live in pogs may determine the fate of two worlds. Rest assured that no matter which one wins, the rest will be shuffled back into our stack of Jaunt Ideas and may show up for future votes!

Prompt #45 is set in a liminal space in which the riverbanks contain some very unusual wildlife.

Prompt #46 is set on an athletic field near the Tiber in the world the Travelers visited during last year’s Roman Holiday.

Our upcoming app round runs August 24th-31st. Our next Jaunt, Lightside/Darkside, takes place in January, a clockpunk city on a hill, home to a unique, fey, fairy-tale culture. The Lightsiders and Darksiders live on the same streets, but every day, at sunrise and sunset, one group flees inside to lock their doors, and the other takes to the streets to conduct the day or night’s business. Each group faces unique challenges and mysteries in their separate but overlapping cities--and what they do not know about one another could serve to either unite their society or tear it apart. The Jaunt is scheduled to begin September 9th & run for approximately six weeks.

Prompt #41 is set in the Bando Peninsula from the Code of Dishonor Jaunt, a martial arts fantasy where ninjas, spirit summoners, peasant armies, scheming nobles, and the monastic Sun Guard all recently came together to depose the Shogun who ruled over them.

Prompt #42 is set in the supernatural princedom of Sarmatia, home to vampires, werewolves, and the corvigers who serve them in order for their own shot at immortality. During the Children of the Night Jaunt last fall, the Travelers help Sarmatia hold its first free elections.

THE SYNODIPORIA FOURTH WALL EVENT!

Welcome, Fellow Travelers! This month between Jaunts, instead of doing a Liminal Event and a Test Drive, we’re doing both at the same time - a 4th Wall Event on the main comm, not the OOC, where from June 18th-July 5th, prospective players or friends just having fun may bring in characters to comment on any post tagged !4th Wall. These visitations will occur in-canon for the game, and may have real ramifications for players who continue on with us, so please consult any castmates you’d like CR with and check their plans. Mingles will be going up on the 18th & 27th. During that same window, apps will be open, so anyone who wants to keep their character in game can submit their app and join us. Our next plot, Villains & Vigilantes, a superhero event, will begin July 6th, and we’d love to have you with us for it.

Our upcoming app round runs December 18th-31st. Our next Jaunt, Escape from Junkworld, is a space opera romp where humans, aliens, and androids work together on mysterious scavenged, malfunctioning ships to outrun an interstellar disaster. Our next Walkabout (a more casual alternative event, for those not interested in the Jaunt) will revisit Heartbreak Academy, a shoujo anime setting where high-schoolers use Social Technology to bring shoujo special effects to life, from glitter to roses, transformation sequences to sad rainclouds, these cartoony powers are at the height of education for those who want a career in media or diplomacy, or some other means of big-stage self-expression. Both Jaunt & Walkabout will begin January 7th & run for approximately six weeks.

Prompt #37 is set in the Escape from Junkworld jaunt, as an advance taste of the fun available there.

Prompt #38 is set in a created landscape within the Telepathic Network all Travelers can access, and features characters facing their inner demons and traumatic memories together.
