( in which shit gets real )
Next week: Prometheus pulls out his ace in the hole, and on the provision that remaining Olympian hostages are entrusted to a neutral party, Nike agrees: A summit will be held in Thebes on the night of the new moon, in order for all the gods and Titans still active to determine the best path forward. Actions taken or not taken during the summit will determine who wins - both in the Achaian conflict and in the Arcana's game.

Week Three Summary / Week Four Plotting.

Week Three
Those who braved Olympus return, armed with ill news and accompanied by strange gifts.
Kosmas attempts to secure Hebe's aid by building her priesthood. Agoraea continues attempting to develop a plan for the end of the world. Helios continues his recruitment. Selene retreats to her orchard. Nike discovers the source of the gods' apathy.
The new immortals awaken to their powers. Arke continues their temple raids. Melanthios settles into his new family. Markos brings news of the Underworld. Sarai has a crisis of faith. Karis is put down before he can become a god.
Cloud and Kinji join the Titans' conspiracy. Lyall's lycanthropy only adds to the problems plaguing Iolchis. Feliciano remains plagued by bad luck. Bernkastel forms yet another conspiracy.
Kinji reports his progress. Bernkastel confirms to the Investigators that the Titans have flown their prisons. Lyall's vision shows yet more chaos to come.
Note: If you were planning a thread for this week that might affect what's about to happen on Olympus, and it isn't mentioned here yet, you've got till 4 PM CST to let us know in the questions/additions section so we can factor it in.
Week Four
As the week begins, Nike leads a band of Olympian loyalists up the mountain to face Hebe & whatever of her allies may be there. As they approach the summit, shooting stars begin streaking down from Olympus to strike the earth and plummet deep beneath it. How many fall has not yet been determined - it is not too late to make a difference.
Helios & Selene plot to steal back their chariots, while earthquakes ravage Greece. Athens will be struck particularly badly, with fires, tidal waves, and beasts from the underworld rising. In the face of this disaster, the gathered youths in Iolchis pledge power to Hebe, and the Oracle in Delphi leads a similar rite to lend strength to Apollo. Ghostly underworld creatures from the underworld will rise in Iolchis as well, but rather than ravaging anyone, they will defend Hebe's champions from any threat.
Nothing particularly unusual will be happening in Thebes & Mycenae this week, unless we get a correction under Questions & Additions telling us otherwise.
And of course, all sides of the conflict are recruiting immortals more actively now than ever. For the Investigators, the tide can be turned by one great, unified effort on almost anyone's behalf... assuming such unity is possible, or that the natives do not notice the foreign nature of the interference.

Galen is cranky at the gods. Gelos attempts to pitch the climbers off Olympus. Below the mountain, Milo offers shelter from the storms. Karis feeds the chaos. Daniil suffers under the pull of the tides. Arke raids temples. Shura plans for a voyage.
Souji's looking for a plan. Zed doesn't take the hazards of Olympus seriously. Aloy meets her first griffin. Lyall follows his nose. Kinji perfects the art of the Bronze Age selfie. Syeira plays with fire. Tybalt mobilizes the cats. Minako has a mystery to solve. Kohaku is unimpressed with the chaos. Tommy makes himself useful.
Claudia attempts to organize a portal brigade. Kinji breaks the news of the Titans' planned coup to the Investigators.
And while some dare Olympus's peak or weather the chaos on the mortal plane, others undertake to enter the Underworld.
Week III Plotting
As heroes return from Olympus and the Underworld, several divergent threads can be followed: subduing the chaos in Iolchis, listening to the news the heroes have brought, seeking out the thief raiding temples of Apollo across Greece, Prince Kosmas gathering together two dozen youths to pledge their lives to Hebe, who says she can calm the world if they do so - and they will be aided in these by one sign of favor from the gods: falcon-swift ships. These vessels, with birds of prey upon their prows, carved wings upon their sides, and neither sails nor oars, can guide themselves quickly enough to travel between any two ports in Greece in under a day. Wherever answers can be found, the ships can take Travelers there.
Additionally, some among the Investigators are trying to discover who the new immortals are, wondering if they may be Achaia's best hope for the future...

a STRICTLY OPT-IN plot opportunity
Apr. 10th, 2017 11:44 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Hi everyone! This is Jill, with a solo jaunt-plot option to offer people.
So. The Titan-type I'm running with for Shinji's plot role is Helios, who used to be in charge of the sun before Apollo stole his frickin' chariot. Interestingly, Helios is also known in a variety of myths for seeing everything that happens (he's the one who tells Demeter where Persephone ended up, and Hephaestus that Aphrodite's stepping out on him).
I'd kinda like to play with this in-jaunt a little, but given the possibly-invasive nature of the idea, it'll take some finagling. As such, this is an opt-in ONLY offer to have some rando who wasn't even there be aware of what's going on in your threads. If you'd like to have this played with, comment here and I'll keep a list. (And if no one comments, he may snoop on some NPCs. XD)
(I will not be looking to keep this post-jaunt, because it would seriously weird Shinji out, not to mention get next to impossible to keep organised from an OOC standpoint.

Greetings and salutations, Syn! Jill and Bii here, with a PLOT OPPORTUNITY for y’all for the coming jaunt.
Your friendly neighborhood Disguised Titans (Shinji and Thorne) will be out and about doing their bit for the Titanspiracy this jaunt, that bit being ‘get some promising mortals in on the immortality gig.’ Between us we can each tap one person per week, and we’re thinking the most balanced way to do this is by RNGing from a pool of volunteers. Since there will be interaction, this should count as an Immortal Ichor teaching proof.
Preference will be given to Investigators and non-demigod Infiltrators, since poking mortals is the whole point of this subterfuge. If you’re interested in getting in on this, drop us a comment below and we’ll put you in our pool!
(Also of note: Assuming both of us take the plot skill, this will still be on offer a total of twice per month. The real trick then will be getting either of them to admit they can still do the thing, let alone actually do it. Seriously, why would you trust someone with this responsibility.)

Olympus Upended - Jaunt Info

A Jaunt through uncharted times in Mythic Greece
April 10 - May 25/26
Sing, O Muse, of the dusk of the Age of Heroes
Of those days when the gods disappeared from the skies
And the sun and the moon and the earth were troubled
By chaos and darkness, fell beasts and foul magic.
A generation past did the walls of Troy fall.
Those great kings and heroes reside now in Hades.
Their children rule but only echo their glory
And divide their empire, the once-great Achaia.
Olympus rises above Iolchis unconquered
Unansw’ring mortal prayer or query, isolate.
At its feet they gather, burning fires, and now dream
Of a climb they will dare, and daring, remedy their questions…
It is a dark time for the Achaians. The capital city of Mycenae has been sacked by the Heraclides, barbarian grandchildren of the Olympian god of strength, and no central rule has risen up to replace the shattered House of Atreus. The Pythia, snake-priestess of Delphi, has declared that this is the last year of the Age of Heroes, and no-one is certain what Age will follow after, or what the end of an age means.
Weeks ago, earthquakes, whirlpools, and tidal waves began to trouble the coastline. The sun and moon became irregular in their courses, causing days of burning drought to be followed by blizzards, disordering the tides. Some days the sun is dim and sullen, other days unbearable. Mountains spew fire and liquid rock, crevices open in the earth and breathe forth foul gasses - all signs indicate that Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades are all wrathful, and that something ails both Apollo and Artemis. But no oracles or prophecies reveal how their favor was lost, or how it can be regained.
Across the land, the powers of the gods have begun manifesting in unsuspecting hands, unfamiliar places. The gods have chosen heroes to empower in times past, but always they gave a little instruction as well, and now that is missing, and their gifts seem to be scattered at random.
In the city of Iolchis, which lies near to the foothills of Mount Olympus, new heroes, foreign travelers, sages, priests, and kings all gather to consult with one another. What do these disasters and omens mean? What should be done? Already, there is talk of daring blasphemy - of attempting to climb the heights of Olympus and laying these troubles directly at the feet of the gods. Such a thing has never been successfully accomplished, and all who tried in the past were struck down. But now… can any other measure save Achaia?
