Announcements/Jaunt Voting

I. Page Updates
At long last, the Previous Universe Skills page has been updated to include skill information about everything from Lightning Age forward. This includes the new X-Pressure strains available from the Doki walkabout, a linked primer on Color Magic with links to the guideline spell master lists, and a new level of Siren Song for those who were wondering about Song composition. The Previous Jaunts summary page is also fully caught up.
Most of the page updates that were promised to be rolled out by November 1 were delayed by Matt’s election-season work. We’ll be hashing out a new schedule for rolling out updates ASAP and getting to work on those in the next couple months.
II. Welcome New Mod Jill
Due to Meta going from part-time to full-time work, Matt becoming involved in more community organizing post-election, and Bii attempting to have a life outside of Synodiporia, it was obvious we needed someone else to help keep things on track. Given Jill’s track record as a temporary modlet during the January jaunt, it was determined that she has both the capability and experience to join the team.
As of now, Matt is Head Mod, Meta is List Mod, Bii is Liminal Mod, and Jill is Schedule Mod. Their current duties are on the Mod Contact Page. Arcana will still be NPC’d by Matt, Meta, and Bii, but Jill will likely start pitching in with the Familiar Faces. She’ll also be helping write mingles with the rest of us and generally work with Bii to keep us more or less on schedule.
III. Jaunt Voting
We’re ringing in Phase Three with a bang… and a revisit to one of our top three most requested jaunt settings! The choices are as follows:
Purgatory: Vanity Fair is a Purgatory sidequel, set not in the city of Melasurei but in a marketplace further from the borders of Hell. Exploring the trade in Sin and Virtue in the afterlife, the future of the Peregrines, and the moral ambiguity or ambivalence of Purgatory, Travelers will have a number of chances to pick up magic or magic items - and a risk of having themselves or qualities they possess bought and sold by uncaring immortals. Though far from Melasurei, the ramifications of the Name’s invocation are still being felt, and consequences still unfolding...
Labyrinthine Shoal: Siren’s Song. When more outcasts and castaways come ashore on an island ruled by pirates and renegade mermaids, the fledgling colony struggles to remain stable - especially in the face of a new outbreak of pestilence and vice, as a leadership struggle and a human-transmissible strain of the Stricken contagion coincide. This Jaunt can potentially include reprises of not only Shoals characters, but anyone exiled from the Bando Peninsula.
Digital Frontier: Legacy Mode. When an old, archived system is uncovered, the Network calls on its most experienced and capable data recovery experts to transfer over to its port and start work. But those experts - Miners, Defenders, Cryptos, and Revolutionaries - have been sequestered for fear of data corruption. Enterprising Programs new and old quickly figure out that someone on the expedition must know something about the ancient data that makes its recovery worth the risk - but who, and what they know, are mysteries that pale in comparison to the System itself.
As always, voting is weighted - a first choice counts for double a second choice. There is also an option to note if any of these Jaunts are dealbreakers for you or your characters. Should enough people have trouble with the winning Jaunt, a walkabout may be arranged. Voting runs until 11:59 PM December 2nd.
IV. Other Business?
It’s been some time since our last proper State of the Game, and it may be a bit longer until there’s another one. That said, if you have any pressing concerns not covered here, please leave them in the comments.
