Acquired Skills
ACQUIRED SKILLS Extra Activity Skill Gain When you turn in extra activity in order to master a new skill, make a comment on the Activity Check page for that month. Include the name of the skill mastered and the source you learned the skill from (i.e the PC or NPC who taught it to you) if applicable, as well as any equipment or material necessary for the skill (a sword for fencing, a gun for shooting, a wand for Hogwarts-taught magic, an evoker for summoning a Persona… you get the idea). Jaunt skills always require a skill proof. Psychic Skills, Liminal Skills, Hybrid Skills, Combo Skills, and Favor Skills require 45 comments, but no proof for Single Skill AC. For Double Skill AC, 60 comments are required, and the second skill requires a proof (unless it's a Favor Skill). Anyone who practices these skills may master them at any time, provided AC requirements are met. For more details on reporting Skill AC, see here. New Character Skill Gain When you apply for a new character as a veteran Traveler rather than a new arrival, you may claim up to three skills, no more than two per previous universe visited. Psychic & Liminal Skills are the most common choices, but you may also review the list of applicable Previous Universe Skills. If you have just joined the game with a post-game character who has learned additional skills or powers in your previous game, the three-skill limit does not apply, but you must be able to link to proof that your character acquired these skills in that game before the date you submitted your application. Either way, report skills gained at the time you applied on the Skill Equivalences Page. For more information on skill equivalences, see here. Dropping Skills If you've made skill AC for the month, would like to un-take a skill you've come to regret your character having, and haven't done so within the current jaunt, you may do so, within a few other guidelines. For more details and/or to report which skill you'd like to drop, head over here. Skill Tracking The skills Travelers have already learned are listed here. Players looking to track their characters' skill gains and future prospects from the skill trees have a few player-made options. These presently include a text list of all Psychic, Liminal, and Combo Skills organized from least to most prerequisites, a pair of flow charts laying everything out in a visual format (they work best with the draw.io Google Drive app), and a spreadsheet with a color-coding mechanic to indicate what skills you already have, want to pick up, or would prefer to avoid. If you devise another skill-tracking database that you'd like to make available to the players, contact the mods and we'll list it here ASAP. |
