Under the GROUPS toplevel, volunteer to team up with other groups of Programs exploring the ZODIAC System. Once you’ve sorted out what your characters are doing, one character from each group should comment under the Explorations toplevel.

Under the EXPLORATIONS toplevel, let us know what your group is doing!

Most exploring Programs will either:

a) explore the buildings and highways in Aries, Taurus, or Gemini City.
b) repair the rail between Aries & Taurus, or look for the break in the rail between Gemini & Cancer.
c) continue to map the Wastelands & search for the mysterious attackers.
d) attempt to restore power to unpowered areas, like the vehicle factories or drydocks in Aries, the vault in Taurus, or the I/O Towers in Gemini.

If you’re not sure where to explore, ask a high-priority Program of your faction for guidance!

The details of the mingle provide general answers for what to expect on one of these trips. If your character is exploring somewhere else, exploring for some other reason, using some special skill or tactic to aid exploration, or looking for something in particular, let us know what they’re up to specifically in your comment and we’ll respond with a specific result.

The outcomes of these explorations will shape what’s uncovered in the next mingle!

Many apologies for the delay in getting this vote out to people - pretty much all of the mod team had one RL crisis or another hit at once, so getting the blurbs ready to go ended up taking longer than we thought it would. In any case, we’re here with the July-August walkabout vote, finally!

As a reminder, and for new players who missed the chance to vote on the double-jaunt block, here’s the teaser blurb for the July-August jaunt:

Red Dirt: Mars, 2148. The greedy corporate barons that run Mars ration technology as a way to keep their industrial workers and colonists in line. The black-market smuggling this leads to has created a thriving underworld, and one of the premier pieces of contraband is… well, cattle, due to their ability to feed on the tough, inhospitable grasses that hold down the Martian topsoil, and, er… create new, better topsoil of their own. When a coalition of colorful outlaws manages to rustle a giant herd, they’ll have to use the rough Martian weather as cover to safely transport the cows to the giant, radar-proof caverns of the Mariner’s Valley. But the ability to steal, shoot, and flee the law does not easily prepare one for the challenges of handling livestock…

In addition to Space Cowboys not being everyone’s thing, we do have some metaplot-related Shenanigans in mind for this jaunt (and those are also not everyone’s thing, and that’s okay!). To counter that, we’re offering a couple of alternatives:

Pogemon: The Beginning: Thirty years before the Travelers visited the world of Pogemon, years before Pogs were even invented, before the worlds became aware of each other, a small group of humans accidentally fell into a world full of weird monsters. Can these humans get home again, or are they doomed to live among monsters forever? (As the name implies, this walkabout is a prequel to Airdra's Pogemon Jaunt from a year ago.)

Brockengard: The abundance of fishing near the coast affords the mountain stronghold of Brockengard the rare opportunity of being a mixed community of animals: one where carnivores and herbivores live closeby to each other. But when a vessel full of strangers is shipwrecked upon the beach, the newcomers need to learn the unusual ways of the mountain before someone does something they might regret. (A talking animal fantasy in the vein of Redwall, this walkabout is set in the same world as bii’s Gransalis Abbey Jaunt, but does not involve any characters or locations in the Jaunt.)

Write-in: Is there another past setting you’d like to prod at? Drop a suggestion here!
