Mod Mission Statement & Ethos:

Moderators have four primary duties: managing the logistics of the game for the sake of consistency and organization; acknowledging player involvement & achievement in a way that promotes fair play and deeper engagement; providing a nuanced and progressive narrative backdrop for players to explore character development and relationships which interest them; and removing or avoiding disharmonious elements which damage the atmosphere of the game and lessen everyone’s fun or suspension of disbelief.


Any action taken by a moderator in their role as moderator should be defensible as belonging to one or more of those categories. Furthermore, moderators should be able to acknowledge and step back from their own preferences and distates, work in pairs to reduce the potential of individual bias in reviewing player applications, complaints, or suggestions, and be open to the possibility of high-level collaborative input from players (when that collaboration is in line with the four primary mod duties).
