The University was founded on ordinary, flat ground in the late 1800s in the country of New England. No one knows its original name. The fairy hill came later, around the 1920s. For the unknowing, Elsewhere University--EU or Elsewhere U for short--is a typical school, albeit with a few quirks. Iron washers on strings are given to all the freshmen. Green is noted as bad luck, but it's still the school colors (although the actual shades change frequently). Everyone must go by false names and never, ever say their true names. Ever.

About a third of the campus knows of the Gentry, the Fair Folk, the Good Neighbors, the Lords and Ladies. Call them what you will, call them even by your own culture's name for beings like them, for that is how they may appear to you, but always with reverence. Hailing from a magical world dubbed the Elsewhere, Fae come in all shapes, sizes, and scuttles of life.

A human may be unexpectedly swapped with a Changeling Fae. It happens. The Treaty says no severe harm shall come to or from the Changeling, and that the Taken human may be retrieved at the end of the semester. However, human, Fae, and Other will be caught up in a potentially disastrous Changeling exchange that will lead to an emergency rescue mission in the Elsewhere. Those on both sides of the divide will be tasked with helping one another with wit, bravery, knowledge, diplomacy, and of course, Deals.

Though there is existing canon on tumblr, this Jaunt is a very streamlined version of this world. It and its rules are designed to ultimately rely on its Syn info pages only, for all our sanities. Everything else is supplemental Player Resources meant to spark Infiltrator ideas or help with your character's specific interaction with the world.

How do changeling forms interact with this? Casper has one from Jules' dungeon but isn't himself fae-touched.

And what's the rest of the world like? (since overlays would have a vague idea what the "outside" is like.) Tech level? Year? are there video games for this nerd to find

How expansive is Fae magic in this setting? Do they have specifically defined powers (like, control over darkness or wind or whatever) or is it just kind /handwave THEY DO MAGIC?

With the Elsewhere Crows: definitely crows, or are ravens passable?

Also regarding the Sight as a skill: White Wolf-type Changelings (so Gil, Jules and Kitty) already possess this. Would they get this as an equivalence, or is it different enough to warrant its own skill slot?

Just to confirm: in the Changeling skill etc, the Changeling is a separate 'NPC partner entity' that can be swapped in/out for the actual player character and played like any other NPC companion?

Would a hagstone that doesn't specifically have the skill of true sight that someone brings with them work in-Jaunt and then not otherwise if you don't take the skill?

Since I've settled on IT for Ambrose/Fennel's staff department thingy, I wanted to ask if EU has security cameras he could maintain/monitor/have access to.

If someone tried to get an Elsewhere Crow to lead them home- to their own world- either during Jaunt or in Liminal Space, would it be a failure? Since Liminal Space is weird, I have no idea if a path home is possible.

I'm assuming one can keep a skill for "Other" form? Like, if one is a werewolf or a vampire, that can be kept after the jaunt like any other form?

Just that there's no actual skill for such.

If an investigator gets taken by the Fae and a Changeling is made to replace them, does the Changeling know that they're replacing a Traveler and have the appropriate info to blend in? Or is the Changeling going to be assuming the vague cover story that the Traveler made up?

(Basically, how accurate-to-self is the Changeling and does that accuracy go even past the point of people that actually properly belong in the world?)

Are cats and/or crows viable alternate forms for pets/animal companions/pogemon to take? And if so, if someone with a pet takes the associated skill, could the pet keep the form after the Jaunt?

... But he is a bird. He cannot read. How will network access work like this? Is it just cut off?

So what are the various ways that one can get taken by Them and replaced with a Changeling? Do you need to explicitly have a run-in with someone sinister and/or mess up a deal, or are there vaguer ways to make it happen?

Also, will there be a chance for any characters that get taken and replaced to play some creepy stuff out on the Elsewhere side?

Okay, some belated skill questions as I update the spreadsheet:

Changeling: Is this teachable post-jaunt? If so, how would it be taught?

Fae's Touch: Post-jaunt, it seems like to have to already have Changeling to pick this up? Is that right?

Fail Forward: How would this one be taught post-jaunt?

Traveler's Deal: How does this one work post-jaunt? Does someone need some kind of other fae skill in order to make deals later?

If one half of a bond pair was Taken, can the other half still feel their bond-mate at all?

Edited to add: How easy is it for someone to get into Elsewhere, and can they still access their hammerspace from there?
