Barry is going to be a teacher! I've also put him down to be The Teacher plot role, but either way his safe name is gonna be Barney Blues and he teaches chemistry!
Bismuth is gonna be investigating, and also human! She hates that part of things, but she'll deal.
Gil will also be Investigating! But since this entire jaunt in every angle is triggering as fuck for him, he's noping off to the Walkabout by the end of the week.
Stone is infiltrating as a fae thing of some sort. I have put him in for either the Anna Monday role or the Groundskeeper role. So he will be a bit up in the air until I find out if he gets either one. But definitely infiltrating as some kind of fae.
Lyall is infiltrator persona-ing, so he will be the local werewolf biology professor, but also himself and on the network. I couldn't resist when I saw the line about sometimes teachers are werewolves. Ahaha. InfilCR and trying to herd cats with his squirrelly pack both welcome.
Riddick is off on walkabout. No fae shit for him :B
Name: Nye True Name: Unknown Status: Changeling (approximately 1 - 1.5 years) Taken: Tai "Myr" Hirayama Glamour: 6' 3" (190.5 cm), long black hair streaked with white, gauged piercings in the shell of his ear which makes them pointed, fingers are slightly long, teeth look "off". True Form: 6' 8" (203.2 cm), blue-black-purple-green hair streaked with white, pointed ears with piercings, extra long fingers, hard nails like dog claws, all pointed teeth, mouth too wide, eyes mirror the star field above the university, ragged transparent wings, never quite touches the ground. Occupation: Substitute science teacher, filling in for Ms. Aurora while she's on maternity leave. Changeling Powers: Elemental - wind, electricity
Nye is That One Laid-Back Substitute Teacher who always seems vaguely amused and occasionally will put on Bill Nye VHS tapes and let his students goof off. When he does teach it's always unreasonably fun/cool. He's definitely the one who'll, like, send out emails: "Yeah, not feeling class today. Take an extension on that paper and I'll see you on Thursday." (Always happens after exceptionally clear nights and after thunderstorms.)
People say he has no sense of self preservation - He goes to the roof in thunderstorms. When asked about it he just says that he really likes them. A little water never hurt anyone, and the thunder reverberates in your chest, and the electricity in the air makes him feel alive, and lightning is like nature's fireworks!
Most of the time he looks like a pretty normal guy in his late twenties, early thirties, who might have some fae blood in him. At night things are a little different. He always wears sunglasses at night - those reflective silver ones that cover the whole eye area. He tends to stay indoors, but if he's walking outside and goes under a streetlamp, or past a lit window, you might see the shadow of ragged wings on his back.
Appearance note: Both versions, the glamour and the true, have their original arms. There is no replacement for the right arm. He is also unscarred.
Phillip is going to be a fully enrolled Fae student in the theater program. Because seriously, doing otherwise would kind of be a waste. His Glamour is very good, though the observant will notice that his eyes are a little too big and a little too blue, and sometimes when shit gets intense he stops blinking. (This is usually a sign that you back the fuck down.) I haven't decided what his Fae form looks like yet.
He's pretty laid back for a Fae, mostly because he thinks theater is the greatest thing ever and most humans get at least a marginal pass in his book for coming up with it, and open defiance is kind of funny to him since oh goodness, you poor fragile humans really don't get it, do you? However, getting on his bad side is a very, very poor idea. Last year he got into a fight with another theater student and she's never been quite the same since... though for many people they just think he traded for a Favor to curse her.
Also a couple of years ago he was involved in a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream that may have involved Bottom's actor getting briefly turned into an eldritch abomination. The fact that Phillip was playing Puck is irrelevant.
Pearl is a child who just is kind of. Around. No one's really sure why, and asking her never seems to clear anything up. And pressing is a poor idea- for whatever reason, the Fae like her, and god help you if you make her cry. (Anyone who would like to be a Fae acting on anything that makes her cry, I am so down for this.)
As stated in my plotting comment, I'm unsure who or even what Altair will be, and looking for suggestions on that, but "Eagle One" is down to protect small children.
Sara will be using an Infiltrator Persona as... call her Val, everyone else does. She's 19 and in her freshthing year as a Literature major, but the real reason Val is here is because she's been studying the Forbidden Major since before arriving because the fae took her parents and she wants them back.
She is here to rescue those the Changelings don't give back in violation of the spirit of the law, and using the letter of the law to do it - and in helping the newbies get acclimated to the rules for keeping the Good Neighbors honest. She also has peanuts for the crows, because may as well get on their good side; she has a little greymalkin of the Spring court named Gabriel who found her very amusing.
"Val" is going to be a bit upset with Sara's presence, but they'll find ways to help each other.
Nabiki is going to be an Autumn Court merchant princess of the Goblin market who's got da best dealz anywhere! and the noble competition to the Cornerwitch. Do not eat her delicious fruit. It is not worth the price.
I imagine she also has a mundane job in the campus student convenience store, but if you know what to ask for or how to ask she'll check back in storage Behind.
I do plan on picking up Skill Deals but not keeping it.
Naoya is going to be a fae. He is fascinated by technology but has the typical fae difficulties with it. He works in the back rooms, though he has a nasty habit of appearing in classrooms when he's bored. No one knows why.
Casper is going to be investigating, for maximum Bad Decision Central time. He might or might not use his Changeling appearance skill to see if he can get information. It probably won't work. And Bob is a raven, not a crow, so we'll see if that helps him at all. It might not.
I'm here for Bad Decision Central. Not sure in what capacity, whether Altair's Infiltrator will be helping or instigating said Bad Decisions, but I'm here for it.
The Random Number Gods disagreed, so Claudia will be infiltrating as A Librarian (safe name Eliza, for the silliest of personal in-jokey reasons).
Her brother wandered into the stacks several years ago and has yet to return. She's pretty sure he'll turn up eventually, and intends to be ready for him when he does. She's still mostly human... mostly.
And she's not sure if she should be worried about needing that qualifier or not, yet.
Pinya will be a Fae, one well knows for being a purveyor of the big-dick deals, the more powerful ones, the ones that end up with her in possession of true names and souls. She's known colloquially as the Demon of Deals, and her Fae name is Clayr. She has taken a liking to these humans, and dwells in their realm, hoping to catch them off guard and place them in debt. She is not inherently evil, but she offers her services to crooks and bad people, though, they always get caught out in the end... Clayr's deal making shenanigans change depending on who she's making the deal with and for, for example, if you're going it for greed, then get ready for a nigh impossible ask and your comuppence, if you're doing it for selfless reasons shes likely to go easier on you.
Her Glamour is that of a very put together business woman, long coats, power suits, heels that clack against the tile in an eerie fashion. Her fae form is more like physical shadow than anything else. A lunar Spectre.
(Mods, if this is too OP please let me know what Caps you want to put in place!)
Jim is an Other Student, goes by the name of 'Orion', for his love of the stars. Orion seems like a pretty unassuming guy, but sometimes when he smiles his teeth are too sharp, he stares at things that aren't there, hears the whispers of the soul. He just wants to get his Associates Degree in Botany and Farm husbandry, okay? But you accidentally perform a favour for a kelpie like, once, and you get all these 'Gifts'. He makes some mean potions, too.
Miso here. OPness is fine as long as you mind OOC permissions before doing IC surprises, and remember that Fae don't do Favors or Curses without payment or reason. However, a general hierarchy among Fae applies: Fae Royalty, Sirs Not Appearing in this Jaunt, are far more powerful and terrifying than any PC Fae we'll see here. No one wants them around, no one wants to offend them or even catch their attention, trust me. Also, the Changeling and Anna Monday Plot Roles, and/or the magical forces backing them, may be more powerful/resistant to Pinya because plot armor Reasons.
Sayoko will be investigating for her first jaunt! She's new to all of this, she's still a bit confused... and I want her blundering into trouble and getting taken and replaced with a Changeling version! I think there are some prospective takers for enabling this... but if you've got a character that really wants to get their kidnap on, then let's work something out!
Q'uila is going to be Faefultrating. Although provisionally attached to the Biology Department her actually purview is the campus plant life. Those in the school who need wood are going to have some bargaining to do and woe betide those who do not treat the campus flora delicately.
Glamoured her form is fairly tall at 6ft with pale skin that can sometimes appear almost silvery out of the corner of one's eye. She has long black hair which is always braided back into buns that always look oddly flower shaped. She can be unnaturally still and quiet at times, like she does not notice time passing like a normal person.
If her Glamoured form is tall, then her true form is towering, standing a good 9ft tall. Her pale skin appears less human, rougher like treebark and more, and her long hair shifting between deep summer green and blazing reds, oranges and yellows of autumn.
Those who don't know her often address her as the Gardener but to a select few she has given them the name Rowan to address her with.
I am honestly not sure how mine would know her - I could say Jesse has flirted with her in the past, even though she's staff? But damn, I want some CR somewhere.
Vilari is going to be a Taken student, safe name Valerian. She went missing for less than a year, but was returned dazed, confused, and heavily pregnant with no knowledge of which Fae was responsible, but when asked of them, she grows misty-eyed and fondly speaks of them like a pleasant dream. While Elsewhere, her hair and eyes were turned silver and she doesn't remember what colour they were originally.
Jacob is a Fae student who mostly keeps his Glamour up except around his roommate and those he's enticing into striking deals with him. He likes to 'play', so to speak, and isn't afraid to charm potential victims to following him to Elsewhere on a trip. He's not overly fond of bullies and is more keen to make nice with them to replace them with Changelings. Not that he's ever been caught or accused of doing as much.
Asa is the RA - an Other with all of Asa's usual features (height, horns, bright orange eyes, pointed ears, grey-ish skin, etc.), safe name Taurina. Her role is that of a seasoned student, assigned to advise, handle disputes, and protect a dorm floor. One of the few allowed safe(ish) passage up to a point in the Elsewhere, mainly to rescue Taken. She never explains if her visible Otherness is a result of her repeat expeditions into Elsewhere to rescue Taken or if she's got some Fae in her family.
Fennel would probably be all about helping both Valerian and Taurina. For the former he's got the whole botched love-Deal to work with, and the latter...well. He has Business and a Quest and the computer lab is likely a safe place for RAs to discuss rescue missions.
Ambrose is going to be the Staffperson, working in IT and here to help students and staff with issues both technical and really very not technical. His Safe Name is Fennel, and there's a touch of Other-ness about him even if he looks pretty thoroughly human. He's easily distracted, responds to flirting with panic, and keeps a sword in his office. It's fine.
The Teacher is an Other with too white teeth despite being otherwise fairly pleasant and generally polite to everyone.
The Involved will know that the easiest way to get to class with him is to join the new club on the list in the handbook/student directory, and it is never the same thing twice in a row.
This year it's Mock Trial Club.
There are a few things that are well known about The Teacher:
he speaks Crow and he reffers to anyone in his class during class as Student.
He tends to hang around the Law buildings, and if someone needs him they can ask the crows and they'll (usually) lead them to him.
I wonder if perhaps Blue Diamond and Malik have some existing CR? Seeing as she's probably a fae that's a common source of Deals. (she might appear in his curriculum, if nothing else)
Jean will be infiltrating as a student Werewolf. Someone who wants to live a peaceful school life... but is somehow still kind of a troublemagnet. There are sadly mean npc people that like to say mean things to him and push him around. Sometimes he snaps, which has gotten him into trouble instead.
His Safe name is Tijan, while his True Name is Jamie Kinley. He's a junior student whose major I've yet to decide.
Minerva in a move that should suprise exactly no one is a professor. And since she seems to have become partial to it in Travelling, she will be teaching mathematics. If she knows something of magic, well, you have to ask properly.
Jaina will be a first year engineering student. She has some Fae blood, though she's not entirely clear on which side of the family it comes from since her mother was adopted and her father grew up in the system. (It's her mom's, because Star Wars, but SHE doesn't know that...) What she is sure about is that she has the Sight.
Wash is one of the most powerful figures on a university campus. That's right: He's a departmental secretary (I'm open to plotting about what department if there are faculty infiltrators who want CR!) He was Uninvolved but then his wife got Taken and hasn't come back...
Death is investigating because she knows a a thing or two about Fae. She will be happy to discover the AU version of her brother's ex is Queen Not Appearing On This Jaunt. :p
I have figured out Safe Names for no one other than the fact that Death will be using Didi.
Bakura is the Cornerwitch! Meaning that somewhere, half hidden in some unused building or alleyway will be a Very Goosebumps sort of shop where Favors and Information can be bartered for~ and possibly cursed items can be bought if you're really wanting the full on Goosebumps experience~
He'll be going by the name DreamEater (because of course he will) and... likely be very confusingly similar to his actual self :D
Tachibana will be investigating! ...aaaaand other than him doing his best to keep a close eye on Sayoko, I have no idea WTF he'll be doing. (If Bakura takes more of the center stage this jaunt, he may be semi back burned because what is having the focus to run two characters full blast at the same time?)
Skye does Favor trading too - how do you feel about the Cornerwitch and her being friends as well as rivals? As much as you can befriend one of the Good Neighbors.
Altair is Infiltrating. Most likely Fae? Safe Name is Eagle One, because of course it is. The silliness of his Safe Name aside, I don't have much concrete ideas, other than Glamouring up very similar to his usual self. Things I've yet to scratch off the Infiltration bucket list include villainy and...
Infildating. I'm very shy about asking for this, even just casual flirting with multiple characters that doesn't really affect much, but I'm drawing a blank and need help and direction. Can't even decide if he's a student or not, he feels like that weird inbetween age. Maybe he has some rando part time job like lifeguard? Or, if he's not Fae, I could see him as an Other Librarian, or Involved as part of Campus Security, scooting around in a shuttle late at night.
If you’re still looking for a flirting partner, depending on how his role shakes out Chloe would probably be down. Her last relationship ended for supernatural reasons and she’s still kind of torn up about it but a girl has needs, so.
Chloe (safe name “Red”) will be infiltrating for her first Jaunt. She’s a senior Anthropology student, and somehow managed to stay Uninvolved until junior year, when a trip into the theatre at night to “see some freaky shit” and some bad on-site decisions dropped her Elsewhere through the closet Fairy Circle. She’s pretty sure she made a Deal to get out, as she returned seemingly moments later with strange silver eyes and fragmentary memories of the previous six months. Since then, she’s been digging a bit into the Forbidden Major both because her father had always believed in this stuff and because she’s concerned about the exact terms of her Deal, since she doesn’t remember it. She may be seeking out the Teacher for some legal advice.
Blue Diamond is the Sorority Leader. The Sorority are a minor Court, with Blue Diamond (name still to be determined) as their Queen. Blue Diamond is a melancholic figure, known for weeping beautifully by the pool. (Some say the all the water comes from her tears. No one knows if it true or not. No one has ever dared to ask.)
Pledge to the Sorority, and you will find yourself whisked away to a paradise garden in Elsewhere, where you will be the Sorority Girls beloved...pets? Mascots? Exhibits? It's an easy life, where everything is taken care of. And you can never leave, of course.
Other details still to be worked out, but if anyone wants to plot anything with Blue Diamond, let me know! Also, people are welcome to be Sorority Girls (female gender not required) if they'd like to be involved in that at all!
Daneel is the Groundskeeper. He's Fae, he mostly works by night, he keeps the gardens nice and everything in balance. I'm still hashing out ideas but I'm feeling Foxglove as his safe name? And also thinking about his true form as being... well. Appropriately weird. Ahem.
Foxglove's typical glamour is a rather unassuming red-haired man with an angular face and blue eyes. Like Daneel, for the investigators. His fae shape, if you can see that, is something... altogether stranger. Foxglove is shorter than his Glamour, only about four feet tall, and something sort of lizardy, with a long tail and narrow muzzle. A closer look, if you get the chance, shows this goblin-like creature to actually be made of thin, twisted branches covered in scaly bark braided together into a roughly humanoid shape, thorns studding elbows and shoulders, his tail long and root-like. Bladelike purplish leaves sprout from his head and from his tail, and his eyes are a bright, luminous blue.
There's a big fluffy white-and-black cat that tends to wander around the campus. It doesn't seem to belong to anyone, but it's friendly to Foxglove. It's also definitely Other.
Colonel Tick-Tock is going to be investigating, and he will set himself up as a visiting history prof who may fill in for a few classes if needed. After all, he knows history personally and he's ENGLISH so that must make him extra professor-y, right? He will be looking for a fae to make a deal with as soon as he figures out what's going on, since he's got a boyfriend who's about to turn into a raging beast.
Jesse McCree will be a student in his third year, so around 21. He is a criminal justice major, but he doesn't do super great in his classes. He is, however, also one of the best players on the rugby team (probably a forward ... that's a position in rugby, right?), and a generally all around easy going, friendly guy. What most people don't know about him is that he, too, may be also looking to get a fae favor, though no one would probably be surprised, since he's also pretty reckless in general. Any friends or exes would be awesome CR, or fellow jocks or sports fans?
Eliot Waugh is going to be infiltrating as Elijah Willoughby, a fae student in the drama department. He mostly does costumes and make-up, and his glamour is of a tall, handsome young man who is just the tiniest, slightest bit too symmetrical. He's friendly with a lot of people, but close to very few (or no one, depending on what CR he gets), and it's known around the school that if you really want to attract the attention of a crush/look amazing for that special event/rub your good looks in the face of a recent ex, you should go to Elijah for a make-over. People who do will look amazing afterward for a day and a night, the best they've ever looked, but afterward, a little something about them will be different. Maybe their hair loses some of its luster, or their eyes aren't the same bright shade they used to be, hands aren't as graceful looking, legs not quite so toned. In his fae form, Elijah is fairly horrific - he appears to be a kind of patchwork/amalgam person made of bartered bits of appearance from humans, none of which particularly matches, and changes depending on the season. The fewer deals Elijah makes, the more he looks like a blank, faceless, nothing person, just the vague shape and form of a thing.
Considering the very hostile CR Phillip and Jesse had in Showtime, I'm kind of tempted to offer Phillip as an ex. Only he's Fae so it was probably not the healthiest of relationships...
Also Phillip is also a Fae student in the theater department, though he's most of an onstage person. I imagine he and Eliot are at least familiar with each other.
Rose is going to be humanvestigating--that is, she's going to be investigating in a human body to better blend in with the local humans. My main plan for her is to pledge in Blue's sorority out of curiosity, get stuck in the Human Zoo, and have to be rescued.
Delaunay is using Infiltrator Persona for the very first time as a professor of medieval literature, a job he is uniquely qualified for not only because he himself is from the late medieval period, but also because his infiltration is also from that time period and spent way too long Elsewhere ala Thomas the Rhymer until someone else bargained him out. His safe name is Professor Antinous.
Thorne is also using Infiltrator Persona because I realized that being set in 2014, the Jaunt would be overlapping with the actual time I played her in her original tabletop campaign and I can't resist giving her anxiety as she counts down the days to when she died originally. I plan to compound this by giving her an expy of her sire to be a TA for--and yes, he's still a vampire and she's sort of a baby vampire, if not being run strictly by WoD Rules. (But then again, the setting doesn't do fae stuff quite like WOD either.) There's probably going to be expies of her coterie off to the side too. Basically, I'm looking forward to being QUITE MEAN. Anyway, her safe name is going to be Briar. Just Briar. Honestly, you're lucky she didn't add any extra letters to make it cooler.
Gale is going to be attending college! I'm not sure for what yet exactly.
For fae folks (hell any race really)! He is also the Champion of Monsters! So depending on how much he and the fae believe they are monsters there are some things that can happen.
Generally more beastly, less mind having things he can communicate with and wrangle. The less mind the more control he can exert and guide them in some fashion.
Something he's currently unaware of is that for monsters with needs and urges and pains, his presence can sooth and sate that, giving them peace and clarity for a time. His spirit animal has told him that he can do more, but there hasn't been a need to explore his abilities that much until now.
He can also disguise himself as pretty much anything, so there's that too.
Caleb & Joscelin are both infiltrating as students!
Caleb will be going by Cat Grey, and is a Forbidden Major student who occasionally drives himself more than a little mad with his dedication to his studies.
Joscelin, or Jacques Malperdu, is a student both former and current - he was Taken, and it's been a century in human time since he's been in the mortal world. He currently studies History under a faked registration as a foreign exchange student, trying to catch up with the modern world, recover from his ordeal, and keep anyone else from meeting the same fate.
Would love to have negative CR as Joscelin with local fey; & for Caleb to be in some Forbidden Major cabals!
I don't know why but I got a mental picture of fae!Phillip trying to be friendly at Joscelin and him just. Not having it. just also don't insult him that would end badly.
Drizzt will be infiltrating as Antoine McBride, a professor of mechanical engineering and physics. He sold his "friend" out to the Fae to save his own skin, and that's friend is coming back (played by Raidou). Because he knows that this will bite him someday, he's very jumpy when startled, afraid that the Fae that took his friend or his friend himself might be coming back for him. Antoine wears silver cuff links, a silver cross under his shirt, and silver lined underwear. For the most part, he's an average professor that's unremarkable. He tries to keep a low profile. There's a bit of a cruel streak in him if he doesn't like you. Antoine also enjoys punishing the entire class if one person is out of line. Early to mid 40s.
Oddly, no one can seem to describe his face well. It's almost like the description disappears from your tongue. But friends and students still know him when they see him. He's just perfectly unremarkable.
I may or may not include actual physics problems I have in textbooks I still own.
