C H A R A C T E R;
NAME: Seta Souji
CANON: Persona 4
POINT IN CANON: True End (having just boarded the train?)
AGE: 18
APPEARANCE: http://www.dreamwidth.org/userpic/4395549/1695032
CANON HISTORY: http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Yu_Narukami#Persona_4

(In the orioginal game, he’s nameless. In the manga, he’s Seta Souji. In the anime & some later games, he’s Narukami Yu. I’m sticking with Souji as a name).

Plus some headcanon: I’ve always thought that moving around regularly is nothing new for Souji. The ease with which he settles into being a new kid implies practice. Whatever his parents do for work, it involves frequent relocation, and so my usual statement is that Souji’s lived in 17 years. “Seta Souji, birthdate March 15th, 1994, Blood type O. A fact about me… I was born in Tokyo but I’ve lived in 13 prefectures in the past 17 years. Please be kind to me.”

CANON PERSONALITY: Souji is calm, affable, and a little distant the majority of the time. Before coming to Inaba, frequent moves had taught him not to get attached, so despite his intuitive talent for understanding and empathizing with the people around him, he often seems shallow and aloof to strangers at first.

The truth is, Souji cares about people, and he cares about answers. That compassionate curiosity is the cornerstone of his personality. Years of distant people-watching have lead him to be very insightful about more or less everyone around him, because he does his best not to judge or jump to conclusions, but simply to watch, listen, and treat each new acquaintance as a totally unique and individual case, rather than comparing them to other people, stereotypes, rumors or preconceptions. And whether he understands right away or not, if he sees someone having trouble, he'd like to help. Every problem, like every person, poses its own questions, and Souji's enough of a perfectionist that no matter what else is going on, he wants to find the answer. It isn't ego that makes him put himself in the center of events, but a pre-occupation with any job, problem, or mystery he stumbles across.

The tendency toward being an analytical observer often makes Souji seem like a cipher to the people around him. While his easygoing manner, attentive concern, and seeming tirelessness are constants, Souji is a social chameleon, taking on the traits of anyone he spends time with -- but also taking on the traits they expect him to have. Relationships are another sort of puzzle to solve, and while his emotion is genuine, Souji is a people-pleaser, and he'd like live up to others' expectations. To an insecure friend who feels cut off from his old life in the big city, Souji is urbane and confident, understated. To a fastidious detective, Souji adapts his own curious nature to become a sidekick. To a girl who thinks everyone sees her as an artificial construction instead of her genuine self, he opens up a little, showing how natural it is to play different parts with different people.

So, who is the real Souji? What's under that watchful demeanor? Souji is a methodical puzzle-solver with a bleeding heart. He stays calm because he's dealt with unknowns all his life, and they make him curious rather than afraid. He's a growing kid who's ravenously hungry, and hunger combined with curiosity means he'll eat almost literally anything (once). He likes attention, likes seeing the people around him happy, and he'll push himself to extremes to make that happen without admitting any complaints -- it isn't that he's trying to be stoic, just that he thinks the effort is worth it. He has a dry, goofy sense of humor, and the closest thing he has to a deep secret is that, really, he loves and needs absolutely all the people around him just as badly as they need him.

POINT OF DEPARTURE: N/A
ABILITIES: Fishing, kendo, basketball, origami, cooking, academic brilliance, proficiency in English, Japanese, French, & Spanish, instinctive social understanding, and the http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Wild_Card Wild Card ability. Theoretically, anyone can have the power of Persona, providing they’ve been through the right circumstances to unlock it, but only a rare few have the ability to wield multiple Personas within themselves, and empower them with the strength of their social connections to others.

So, what is this power called Persona? It’s the ability to summon powerful archetypal spirits that represent facets of the self and Major Arcana in the Tarot. These beings may or may not have any external reality, but they express truths about who a person is, & have both powerful physical attacks and elemental magic attacks. Souji is capable of holding 12 or 16 within his mind at once, although he can only summon one at a time, and it’s unclear if he could use them externally in a conventional, real-world setting without some sort of magical or technological catalyst. However, they should be fully operational in Liminal Space.

Even when they cannot be physically summoned, Personas may be used to gain insight into people whose most fitting Tarot archetype matches their own; and becoming closer to such people will in turn empower the Persona.
INVENTORY; A Tarot deck, a cell phone, a wallet, a few pens, a pez dispenser, a pair of glasses, and a katana.
ANYTHING ELSE WE SHOULD KNOW? He has a really, really deadpan sense of humor.

S A M P L E S;
PROSE SAMPLE:
“...That’s interesting,” Souji said, voice mild, looking up at the sleeping dragon with a remarkable amount of composure. He walked toward it, quietly, making no pretense at stealth, while the others beckoned him back or whispered impolite suggestions.

“If it’s that big, it can’t be made of anything normal, or it wouldn’t be able to move. And it doesn’t quite look like any dragon I’ve seen before. So…”

The dragon opened one eye, baleful vermillion light spilling forth like a spotlight over him, and he paused, still looking at it curiously, until it began to growl, steam hissing from between its teeth.

“Hm. I think it’s time to go.” He made the observation, still calmly. A second later he was running.

C H A R A C T E R;

NAME: Shirogane Naoto (Naoto Shirogane by Western custom)
CANON: Persona 4 (PS2 version)
POINT IN CANON: Post true-end
AGE: 16 (Birthdate April 27, 1995)
APPEARANCE: Naoto is a slight person, five feet tall, a hundred pounds soaking wet, with grey eyes, and blue-black hair. She is almost always wearing pants, a button-down shirt, a tie of some sort, and a blue pageboy hat; a very snappy dresser. When she smiles, which is somewhat rare, she has an extremely charming and engaging smile. She also almost always wears a chest binder, concealing her true gender. Very few people would see her as a woman without careful scrutiny or being told.

CANON HISTORY: http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Naoto_Shirogane

A few notes about Naoto’s backstory from headcanon: She started taking cases on her own when she was between thirteen and fourteen, finally being on her own by fifteen. No one questioned this, because of the power and popularity of the Shirogane family. Her grandfather’s power is also how she is able to legally carry a gun in spite of her age and non-affiliation with the police.

Also, her attendance at Yasogami was the first time she actually attended school since her parents died. Her grandfather pulled her out of school, and she enjoyed the private tutoring so much that she never went back. Academically, she is at a third-year or possibly higher level, but was placed in the first year due to her somewhat socially-stunted nature.

CANON PERSONALITY:
If there is one thing that would describe Naoto, it would be duality. She is wise beyond her years, but she is still a child. In one version of canon, it is said that she has the ‘body of a child and brain of a genius.’ The description is extremely apt. She has her public persona, the slightly cold, hard-boiled Detective Prince, but she also has her private feelings, rarely shown to anyone. She is passionate, caring, and emotional, but she is also cold and aloof. At her very core, however, she is a seeker of Truth, working to put together puzzles to find the truth of the matter.

On the surface, Naoto is calm, rational, and a bit cold. When in her detective mode, she asks questions with a flat, emotionless tone, and patiently waits for the answers. She can also be more than a bit demanding, striding boldly up to criminals and murderers, confronting them with the truth of their crimes. She is not put off by much, and is notably the only party member who does not seem to be nervous around or put off by Kanji at all. She also is many times awkward around people, pulling back into an aloof demeanor to disguise her insecurities. She seems somewhat insensitive to others’ feelings, however, is mostly just unaware due to her lack of socialization.

However, if someone gets past the surface, Naoto does have strong emotions and longs for deep connections with people. In the middle of her Shadow’s rant, one line stands out: Give me a reason to stay! Naoto feels deeply that, as a detective, she is dismissed after each case that she has put so much emotion and passion into. When she eventually makes connections with people, she cares for them deeply, and struggles to balance her care for her friends and her passion for her career. In the anime, she realizes that she has put the case above her friends and their safety, and it bothers her deeply. No matter the attention she gets from the press, from other students at her school, and from police departments, she still feels lonely until she meets the Investigation Team in canon. Through her participation in the events of canon, she finds a home and a family, much to her own happiness.

She is a very magnetic personality, even when being aloof. Many students in the school, even without realizing her true gender, send her love notes, which she dismisses, derisively wondering how one can declare love without actually knowing the object of one’s affection. However, when you get to know her, she has a lighter side, one that is scared of ghost stories, loves high places, embarrassed to be weak, and loves robot manga and tinkering with electronics. In contrast, however, she snaps harshly when called a child, looked down on, or called useless.

One of her biggest struggles is with her gender. She has covered up her true gender for many years, choosing pants and a chest binder, as well as a male school uniform instead of more typical feminine clothing. She believes that she will not be able to get the respect she craves as a woman in a male-dominated field. At the end of the game, she is still extremely insecure about her gender, wearing her usual clothes and still using male reflexive pronouns for herself, but she is less worried about people finding out her true nature.

The weight of her family’s detective legacy sits heavily on Naoto’s shoulders as well. Her years alone caused her to start solving mysteries for the Shirogane name, not for herself. Through her grandfather’s interference in canon, she remembers (after calling the entire situation childish many times) how much she loves solving mysteries and puzzles both for her own sake, and the the fact that the puzzles are there, and in embracing that, she becomes a more passionate and effective detective.

POINT OF DEPARTURE: N/A
ABILITIES: Deductive reasoning, academic study, electronic tinkering, English language, marksmanship, vast knowledge of detective novels and action manga.

She also has the ability to summon her Persona, Yamato-Takeru. A Persona is a manifestation of a person’s soul, a fighting creature-of-sorts that personifies how the user presents themselves to the world. Naoto’s persona relies on magic and ranged attacks (her weapon is her pistol) and does high damage. From her canon point, she has the highest-level light and dark magic spells, as well as others. (Mamudoon (Dark), Mahamaon (Light), Megadolaon (Almighty Damage, hard to resist), Mudo Boost, Hama Boost,, Mind Charge (Powers up spells), Tempest Slash (large damage to one enemy), and Vorpal Blade (Heavy physical damage to all enemies).) A Persona is a spirit who fights on behalf of its wielder, however, any damage done to the Persona is also felt by the person who summons it. As it is a part of Naoto’s soul, in theory it could be summoned anywhere there is enough ambient magic or power to bring him forth.

INVENTORY; Blue pageboy hat, clothes, wallet with some cash, credit cards, ID and a photo of the Investigation Team, cell phone, Police ID, Fortune Tarot card, blue oval-framed glasses, pistol with six bullets

ANYTHING ELSE WE SHOULD KNOW? Naoto is one hell of an amazing detective. And she won’t let you forget it.

S A M P L E S;
PROSE SAMPLE:

Here!

ACTIONSPAM SAMPLE:
Naoto could not figure out why everyone seemed to be acting so intoxicated after that terrible King’s Game. There was not a drop of alcohol served to any of them, she made absolutely certain of that before participating in anything at all. Watching them all, so uninhibited, completely ignoring everything else that was going on, well, it just made no sense. She had tried to bring it all back to the problem at hand, but the only answer she got was some strange story about televisions and … personas, was it? Imbeciles.

However, there was something in the back of her mind as she helped Yukiko, Chie and Rise back to the hotel that just would not go away. The story was fantastical, but would Yukiko especially come up with something so strange for no particular reason? Did all of them actually believe the story, or were they just making fun of her? Things made less sense the more she thought about it.

Finally getting to the hotel and packing the girls off to bed, she sat up in a chair for most of the night, mulling it all over in her head. Perhaps she was the imbecile. Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth. Was that the truth? Were these people actually able to go inside a television to another world beyond it? The television did have a key part to play in the entire mess. Everyone who had been kidnapped was on television in some manner. And then she realized what she had to do. No one else could do this, she had to follow it through to its end. Getting on television was the easy part. What happened next, well, that was going to be the challenge, and a challenge she was absolutely ready for.

C H A R A C T E R;
NAME: Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden
CANON: The Dresden Files
POINT IN CANON: After "Skin Games"
AGE: Early 30's
APPEARANCE: Link. He's just under 7 feet tall and has short, dark hair. He usually wears jeans and graphic tees, along with his magic duster.
CANON HISTORY: Harry Dresden wiki

CANON PERSONALITY: Harry Dresden's speech is full of snark, with a health dose of snark. He is a sucker for a pretty girl, and is chivalrous to a fault. (i.e. opens door for ladies and is generally nice to them, pays for dinner). Two examples of this are nearly racing LT. Murphy to the door in Storm Front, and turning down the advances of a tipsy changeling in Cold Days. He will often get himself into (and out of) trouble by being a smartass, like patronizing Raymond the guard in It's My Birthday Too and then bad mouthing the black court vampire at the end of the same story.
Even with all of this he has always tried to do things for the greater good, even if it costs him. One example is Susan. He had a lover name Susan that produced a child, but Susan was killed by Harry in order to stop the Red court vampires from killing him and his family. This was the hardest thing Harry had to do in his life. Harry is still haunted by this, but has forgiven himself by the end of Skin Games.
He has a sharp analytical mind that he uses in his work as a P.I.
Beneath his hard ass sarcastic exterior he has a soft spot for animals, children, and women. Harry once protected a child from Nicodemus by taking a coin, a blackened Denarian, and keeping the baby from touching it. He even killed an entire race of vampires to protect his family. He got his dog, Mouse, after he stow away during a job. During said job he had to fight Monkey Demons throwing flaming poo at him.
He has problems asking for help from his friends. He hates putting them in harms way even if they do it themselves. He even gets short with them when they do. They will try to help, but he but heads with them when he thinks they are getting in over their heads.
Due to the Winter Mantle, he is quick to anger and sometimes rude and blunt, bordering on mean. He can control this but it grows stronger each time he uses it.

RELATIONSHIPS: He doesn't have that much family other than his daughter, half brother Thomas Raith and his grandfather Ebenezer McCoy. Thomas and Harry work well together and they had a good friendship, they treated each other like brothers before they learned they were brothers. Ebenezer was his teacher before he was a P.I. Ebenezer saved him from the Doom of Damocles. He respects his grandfather and fought beside him to save Harry's daughter in Changes. Karrin Murphy is his curent girlfriend but long time friend and ex-CPD dective for Specal Investigations. He has worked with her so often that he trusts her with his life. Molly Carpenter was his apprentice untill Changes, proving his love of teaching. He has a group of friends called the Alfas that are Werewolves. He games with them regularly and enjoys their company. He trustes them with his work and even seeks advice on cases. Butters has become a very close friend over time and is now a knight of the cross. His frequent wounds have put a strain on their friendship but they are still friends. Before Butters became a knight of the cross he worked as the medical examiner and their medic. His favorit hangout is a little place called McaNally's Pub.

ABILITIES: Harry has magic, and lots of it, specifically evocation and thaumaturgy. Evocation is the down and dirty magic: fire balls and shield spells, fast-cast, off-the-top-of-your-head stuff. For thaumaturgy, the easiest way to describe it is: as above, so below. If you do it in the small scale, you can get it to happen in the big, but it takes time and a lot of power. His tracking spell is thaumaturgy, but he requires a magic circle and a personal item of theirs (item in their possession, a drop of their blood, a lock of their hair) in order to cast it. He also has a "Murphy field", an anti-technology field in which anything made after 1940-ish will break down over time... some faster than others. Computers blow up, phones fry, and electronics generally don't like it. It was mentioned in Storm Front that Harry had fried a computer when he walked into Lt. Murphy's office. Since "Changes", Harry has taken on the mantle of the Winter Knight, which makes him extremely resilient to pain and boosts his ability to use magical ice and magic in general. Because it keeps pain from registering he can become a danger to himself by not getting injuries treated when they need it. It also boosts strength and speed temperately. The down side to the mantle is that the more he uses it the stronger it influence.
Harry can open up a portal to the “Nevernever” allowing him to travel log distances using the “Ways” or paths within the Nevernever. He has had training from the White Council on defense against mind magic, but it is just Defense, attacking is against the seven laws of magic. He also had Second sight, the ability to see things as the truly are, only in permanent ink. Once it is seen it can never be forgotten and can drive him insane.

INVENTORY; Spelled Duster, Blasting Rod, Rune carved Staff, 45 revolver and ammunition, Shield Bracelet, Kinetic force Rings (3)
ANYTHING ELSE WE SHOULD KNOW?
All magic enchantments fade over time, normally with a sunrise. So he has to re-spell his duster every few days, but the rings are enchanted not to fade. The staff, blasting rod and shield bracelet are focus for his magic.
I'm willing to trade portals to the Nevernever for stationary portal creation, short range or mid range teleportation, and Dimensional senses. I'm also willing to trade Mental defenses for Psychic protection.

S A M P L E S;
PROSE SAMPLE: Harry sat up from the floor and, bleary eyed, looked around. He blinked his vision clear and froze. This was not Karrin's room, nor was it a place he had ever been in before. The “floor” he was sitting on was really just his imagination. The world around him was akin to the night sky, with stars floating here and there.
Harry checked himself over in the darkness. He was in his duster with his rings and shield bracelet on his hands. In his right hand was his staff and in his left was his blasting rod. He felt the weight of his 45 in the pocket of his duster. This worried him as he looked at himself, he was dressed for battle.
The world around him hummed with power, almost like the Nevernever. The main difference was what was happening around him. Stardust zipped back and forth, but they seemed to be attached to something. Harry tried to focus on what was happening, but his mind was filling with sounds.
Voices echoed about inside his head, driving most of his thoughts out. The voices were not his.
Once he realized this he slammed down his mental defenses and started feeling out his attacker. Nothing malicious seemed to be out there, but he had seen many things that weren't “malicious,” could be malicious. The energies around him flowed like a normal place, only with more of it. It was then that he heard one of the voices power through his walls.
“It is safe,” it seemed to say. “We talk this way.”
“What are you, 'The Brood',” he quipped. “Is there any Raid around here?”
The voice calmly told of this world, how he was in Liminal Space and how it worked.
“So, you mean to tell me, that on the whim of some uber powerful cosmic 'Being', I was pulled from my warm bed, ripped from the arms of my new girlfriend, that took me way to long to get, to save a bunch of world from ultimate destruction and run around with others like me? Okay, it's 75 an hour and I need a thousand up front,” he replied. “Who do I send the bill to?”

NAME: Kobayashi Nezumi (Surname name given for AU character)
CANON: No. 6 novels
POINT IN CANON: n/a, native to previous game setting
AGE: 18
APPEARANCE: Nezumi is a man of average height, standing at 182cm, and a pale ivory complexion. He has long indigo-black hair that reaches down to his shoulder-blades when down, though he usually wears it twisted up into a knot at the back of his head, save for the layers of long bangs that surround his face and piercing gunmetal-gray eyes framed in thick black lashes that rarely reflect any emotion at all. He has a lithe, lean yet muscular build that lends him a natural grace in movement of most any kind.

He does have what appears to be burn scarring across his back; however he has no memory as to how he received it. The old Lady never said and Nezumi never bothered to ask.

When he’s not at work, he’s usually dressed in some form of cargo pants, boots, and long sleeve shirts, sometimes adorned with light jewelry, most of the time not. When working as ‘Eve’, he usually dresses in soft, flowing gowns with only a touch of makeup to highlight his rather androgynous looks.

CANON HISTORY: The Wiki

Previous Game Premise:
New Babylon is a panfandom roleplaying game set in a cyberpunk world, with multiverse elements inspired in part by Roger Zelazny's The Chronicles of Amber. The action centers in and around the dystopic arcology New Babylon, one of the last bastions of civilized humanity left in a post-apocalyptic wasteland blanketed by nuclear winter.

Characters can be either offworlders who have been pulled to New Babylon via an ‘experimental glitch,’ or natives who have lived their entire lives in the city; how they cope with life in New Babylon is up to them, whether they choose to carve a life out for themselves in their (new) home, or uncover the truths hidden in back alleys and boardrooms and behind corporate firewalls, or something in-between.

CANON PERSONALITY: His personality is exactly the same as his OU, though I've adjusted the reasons for his thoughts and mannerisms to fit the AU setting.

Nezumi is, in a word, a survivor. He made a choice early on, to dig in deep and claw his way forward - to hold fast to this life he has by any means necessary. And he made that choice, again and again as he grew older. When circumstances, uncertainty, or exhaustion wore him down, he chose to continue to live no matter what. He learned to do whatever it takes in order to ensure his own life reached the next day, and discovered all too soon what the weight of having to take a life felt like, accepted the realities of having to kill another to reach that goal of survival.

He truly believes the axiom ‘Survival of the fittest’.

It’s because of this that he learned to shut people out, to distance himself from them as much as possible to avoid attachment or perceived weakness on his own part. Jagged and jaded to the extreme, he became the perfect example of a hard-hearted loner, utterly cool, aloof, and uninvolved.

Experienced and unaffected on every level.

From his actions and reactions, it’s obvious that Nezumi is a seasoned close-combat fighter with reflexes honed in experience rather than simple instruction. He has an above average grasp of situational awareness, thus can easily take ‘stock’ of the moment and plan accordingly – a skill that makes it exceptionally difficult to catch him off guard. While he is proficient with using whatever is at hand in a fight, his weapon of choice is the switchblades that he always carries on his person.

He’s confident without being cocky in his fighting skill, and doesn't brag or boast unnecessarily to appear greater than he is (at least in that respect). He’s self-aware enough to recognize his strengths and weaknesses… and how to hide them all.

And yet.

He befriended a trio of mice early on, introduced to him by his guardian - going so far as to call them his companions, and developed a deep, abiding passion for literature. Especially tragedies. He would spend all of his free time in the safety of his home – nothing more than a run down, two bedroom apartment on Level 4 left to him by the old woman that had cared for him after his parents were killed – reading every single book and tome that he managed to salvage from the lowest storage rooms of the abandoned library on Level 2 and what he can re-appropriate from the upper levels.

Books on science and technology, on mathematics and engineering, classics and religion. Shelf after shelf, he lost himself in a wealth of knowledge contained in his run down apartment, all stacked in haphazard piles against walls, around his bed, in the hallways and the minuscule kitchen so that the place was little more than a bed, a piano, a couch and a small coffee table, and his interface equipment - all surrounded by his amassed treasures.

He’s mechanically inclined, having developed his own miniature AI that looked like mice, complete with warm fur and fluid movements that he used to both infiltrate the government on the upper Levels and to find Shion again because for him...

Shion is the only one that can evoke such a confusing mix of frustration, irritation, exasperation, joy, and bemusement in Nezumi.

In canon, he can’t help the sarcastic teasing that he used with the other, nor the sharpness with which he berated him for clinging to the bonds Shion still held in No. 6. While talking to Shion, Nezumi revealed a rather telling bit of advice that shows how he views survival:

"Back there, you threw away your citizenship card because it was a danger to us. So are feelings for other people. You get dragged around, pulled this way and that, and before you know it, you're in dangerous territory. Your mama, papa, your grandma, whoever― they're all strangers now. There's no emotional room in you to be concerned about strangers. Your hands are full enough trying to keep yourself alive."

And yet.

For all that he continuously claims that he and Shion are strangers, he always follows harsh criticisms with almost gentle words or actions that reveal the shades of a lie beneath the assertion.

To Nezumi, reality is something that betrays people every day, with a disturbing ease even as it pulls people's lives in unanticipated directions. Reality is something that can coolly and casually fling them into despair, was equally cruel and violent, and utterly absurd. Reality isn't to be trusted - it could make anything happen at any time, or take anything that was of value without hesitation.

Personal questions are ignored outright by anyone, and downright anger him if asked with any measure of persistence - because by his estimation, they’ll break down the safety barrier of ‘strangers’ that he has set between him and everyone else. It’s in these moments that people see the harder edge to Nezumi, an animalistic quality that bespeaks of a stubborn fight or flight instinct to avoid human attachments.

For all that Nezumi’s actions and words reveal a special case for Shion, this skittishness and wariness has become something too far ingrained within Nezumi. He also reveals, in constant subtle ways, that his own grasp on reality is often suspect. In canon, when spoken to by Shion with a blunt honesty, Nezumi automatically assumes Shion is quoting lines from a book or play. He doesn't always connect sincere words and action to the truth or feeling, as he’s never really had the experiences in his life that would indicate those things exist outside of said book and plays.

It’s a weakness that only Shion has been unwittingly gifted the right to see by Nezumi, though Nezumi himself is quite unaware.

He uses harsh, often cutting words to maintain that distance between him and everyone else, then turns right around and softens the blow with an act of kindness or softer reassurances if that person is Shion. He’s a constant contradiction, but only with Shion.

And the reason? Nezumi firmly believes that he and Shion will become enemies one day. Because of Shion’s strong desire to still keep and protect those few bods he holds within No.6 (or in this case, New Babylon) and Nezumi’s intense hatred for all that No. 6 (New Babylon) stands for, Nezumi can’t see or accept that there will be a middle ground.

It’s one of the many ways Nezumi shows that his world view is very much ‘black and white’. Upper Levels, Lower Levels, holding onto those bonds or cutting all ties, survival of self over acts of kindness to others. All things he views in strict lines, save for the few instances he crosses those lines.
