In the Network, more than a dozen Systems flourish - independent nations connected by high-speed data lines, overseen by Programs - humanoid beings made of pure information, each with its own Purpose and Priority in the System.

Only twice in the history of the Network has a System fully fallen to viral corruption - first the ZODIAC, and then the Grid. Five cycles ago, an expedition from other Systems managed to restore the Grid under very strange circumstances - but the rest of the Network, unconvinced that the recovered Programs weren’t concealing viral influence behind their unnatural behavior and outlandish stories, has kept the Grid under strict isolation.

Until now. The Colossus, a System admired for its rugged survivalism and powerful military, is willing to take a risk on the Grid. The Colossus is sending its own team of soldiers and experts to attempt to recover the lost ZODIAC System. Their expedition travels on a large, encapsulated vessel called the Rejuvenator, specifically meant to be difficult to control, to have new Data and Programs uploaded to it remotely - but to be totally unable to send any data back without Colossus approval. If the mission fails, the Rejuvenator will never be allowed to return.

But all the fresh-trained Programs from the Colossus are untested. To give them the best chance at success, the Rejuvenator was sent first to the Grid, to take on a volunteer crew. If the ZODIAC Initial Probe fails, the Grid will remain under lockdown. But if it succeeds, and the Colossus Programs send back a positive report, the Network will consider opening their Ports to the Grid again, and letting its Programs rejoin civilization...

Okay, so - for some context, I'm trying to figure out how the Angels will be infiltrated for this particular jaunt. Currently, I'm thinking that they're an automata (or a group of automata?) that merged with Matthew. So, first question: is having an automata merge with whatever Matthew will be (possibly a Miner?) something that's possible? If so, what would that look like? Is a weird mish-mash of factions possible, or would they have to end up as one or the other?

How does magic work here, if at all? Eliot's magic is particularly open-ended, but he also has different magics picked up from Jaunts - any of that do anything?

Are Automata curable/refactionable this time around? Would there be any flexibility regarding this sort of repair? Say, can cures be 'incomplete'?

What did the Cryptos try to do about the Automata/original Arcana squabble before they got nearly destroyed and had to sleep? What are the secrets Cryptos are "hard-coded not to share outside of their own faction"? How much do Cryptos currently know about SAGE? Is that priority 1 revived Crypto from Digital Frontier 1.0 still around? Is there anything else I need to know about How to Crypto 101?

I'm contemplating how Royal Treatment would translate in this Jaunt, which leads me to ask: where do programs come from? What would "upper class" look like in this world?

For context, I'm still deciding between Defender from Colossus or plain old Variable for Dru, if that helps.

What are the "power transmissions" mentioned in relation to Scanner Rods? And how can a Program detect an active system while technically residing within a system... Does that just mean it's just pointing to the nearest Port that connects to an active system?

Alright, I'd like to ask for more information on how Identity Discs work, as I think I'm still rather fuzzy on exactly what their relationship with their programs is.

1. Are the discs something that programs need to keep on them at all times? Where do they keep them?

2. Since we have a disc thief around, obvious discs can be removed - what happens to the program in that case? Does having someone steal or take their disc result in any negative effects?

3. How does messing with or tinkering with an Identity Disc affect the program?

I think multiple people have confused Dataspike with an ability rather than an item, and there's no description of what it looks like in the skills. Is it a small knife, a stake, an actual lockpick, is it open to interpretation...? Clarification in the skill description would be swell!

Is it possible for a program (besides the data ghost) that was dr-rezzed last time to be brought back in some fashion this time? Either in a recovery like the data ghost, or somehow partially incorporating skills and memories into a new program, or using some sort of data backup from before he was de-rezzed?

And specifically, is any of that possible with ARMIN, who was killed by ROSE?

The good Programs of COLOSSUS have never seen a Crypto, Revolutionary, Variable, or Automata before. How much do they know about those Factions, and how much hearsay and speculation is there?

How boggled and what kind of boggled should they be? How well or poorly briefed were the COLOSSUS part of Operation ZIP Drive?

How exactly is Priority assigned? Like, it seems like Programs are able to be promoted and demoted. Who and what decides when a Program's priority goes up or down?

With regards to Dataspikes: does using them on a Program leave a wound? Do they have the potential to be used as actual weapons/be fatal or just severely inconveniencing/unpleasant?

Should have asked this earlier but - to what extent could a skilled programmer (like Naoya) alter code? Could he make his lightcycle go fast or even alter his own identity disc to give him more health?

If, say, a Program wanted to type a message or write up some algorithms and show/send them to another, can Control Panel be used for that? or is it strictly a status display?

How would Raidou's demons read to other Programs? Would they be thought of as Functions, Programs in their own right, some freaky hybrid between the two (since most of them don't look human), or something else?

Also, how would documents be stored or displayed here?

Okay, so Naoya is going to be taking a look at MATH-U's code to try and figure out if he can fix MATH-U's glitches. What would he be able to figure out from it?

ALSO: Prompto is going to be trying to use his Oracle of Machines ability to try and figure out what's up with MATH-U / how to fix him. What would that reveal?
