Matthew will be infiltrating as Majesty's janitor/cleaner/caretaker (whatever the term is), who also does spray paint art. So he'll be a cleaner who regularly defaces the walls of the school, go figure! The Angels this time around will be splitting off from Matthew to be pieces of magical spray paint art themselves, who are capable of moving from wall to wall and surface to surface, so they'll be roaming around the school grounds. (possibly they may still be capable of possessing Matthew as well; I haven't decided yet)
In terms of InfilCR, I'm definitely looking for CR with other members of Majesty's staff. CR with students could also be possible, although it might be more likely with the Angels (possibly they can be persuaded to pass along messages for the students?)
Kinji will be infiltrating as Kyle Riverson and congrats, he's your Lone Star Academy Coach! He still runs the end-of-year rodeo, and has the actual most intense sense of competitiveness and will to win EVERYTHING, LETS DO THIS KIDS SHOW EM WHAY YER MADE OF!!!
Except if you challenge him just right or accuse him of cheating he'll fucking go off.
Photography is still very much his Perpetual Magic style, and he can use a custom designed Polaroid camera to take photos with warding/charming properties, and his current most-used spell is a charm that freezes anything in the exact moment it was caught on camera, regardless of actual physical location (e.g. in midair).
Rodeo is here as well! He's a statue of a border collie that Kinji and his little brother Shiro built when they were bitty kids, and is extremely durable, hyperactive, obedient and loyal bc that's everything a 12yo and 6yo imagine a dog is at those ages.
Barry will be Investigating and aged down to about 15! This will be so weird for him. He's a master pianist so he's gonna wanna learn Performative Magic so bad.
Yeha yeah ages later I start poking the plotting post BUT: totally running on the assumption that Kinji was the/a photographer for Ambrose and Daneel's wedding. Because yeah.
UPDATE: Naoki is the Teikoku Champion. I am possibly not changing his name. This was supposed to be his sister's moment to shine, but now she's dead and he's stuck ~in the tournament because that was part of the deal for actually seeing another country. He will absolutely be phoning in the competitive aspect of all this.
Shinji is probably investigating, and glaring at anyone who dares suggest cooking is not an art form.
Claudia will be infiltrating as one of Lone Star's teachers. Computer stuff because that's a Life Skill and possibly music for the magical side of things.
Kitty has been entered into the plot role pot for Plucky Orphan of Destiny.
Laughs is investigating and if anyone wants to help talk him into singing let's plot he has a beautiful voice, he just thinks that singing is grossly human and howling is superior and seriously, why would he sing.
Kenzaki will be investigating, and posing as some of the hired help for setting up the tournament. Since his guitar-playing is already a bit magical, I'm hoping to have him pick up on performance creativity magic while he's here!
Dakki will be be infiltrator persona-ing as a Lone Star student whose particular creative specialty is cooking! While she'll certainly have some capacity in the other, more traditional arts, surely creative magical cooking can work like potions or RPG consumable items?
Nero will be infiltrating as a Majesty's student from Donatello house, who is very technically skilled in drawing/painting/digital art, but far lower on the creativity-o-meter. He'll be from a poorer background and there via merit and scholarship, and it seems possible that he gets by on regular results and particularly good warding spells and decent object creation.
Kanji is going back to infiltrating this round; he's likely to be taking it fairly easy. He's a newbie teacher over at Teikoku, teaching textile work - sewing, embroidery, knitting, especially to the younger classes. His speciality's embroidery. Generally here to help chaperone the kids and because he's kind of interested in seeing the world. (He may be breaking out the blue hair dye, because one of these nerds needs to run the canon reference jokes into the ground.) I'm going to be largely backgrounding him and taking it easy, after last Jaunt. ...At least, that's the plan.
Haru is in my investigator seat. Possibly learning how to magic with flower arranging. Or brewing coffee.
Oh man, Inigo will be investigating too but I'd love to do something dance-related with the two of them since he is also really good at it. He's really shy about it though, so if Death poses as a dance tutor he should totally give Inigo a push or something.
Putting Tachibana in the plot role pot for the frazzled Assistant head of the Japanese school [because it fits and also Hayami jokes.] Regardless of if he gets it or not, his magic is via metal sculpture. (Gonna enchant his motorcycle aaawww yeeaaah~)
Bakura's going to be investigating and making magic via making RPG minis. and all the Monster World references. And possibly some dub jokes about him being British.
Madoka likes the way Bakura thinks and might try to figure out if being a relentless Johnny counts as creativity magic, so Bakura will be in good company trying to be a ludomancer. She'll challenge him to a children's card game, see if she doesn't.
Also, Rika will probably be buying Tachibana some much-needed drinks if he gets the plot role.
Rise is going to be using Infiltrator Persona and taking on the identity of...Rise Kujikawa, senior year student at Teikoku, in a very similar life experience to Canon Rise except she went to boarding school instead of questionably ethical idol training. I might give her literally the same background, I can't decide if that's funny or lazy.
Anyway, she'll be competing to some degree as she's still an incredible singer and dancer, but she has negative talent for permanent art and will thus be ducking out of that to do Detective Things with the Investigators. Other than Frands With Teikoku People I am pretty open here.
Beatrice will be on the Walkabout, but just for reference there is definitely a creepy portrait hanging on a wall somewhere in Japan granting a wealthy witch immortality.
Thorne (or rather Ms. Charlene Durante) is going to be one of the newest teachers at Lone Star! Like, it's totally her first year doing it. She teaches literature, specializing in short-stories and genre fiction. I'm probably going to age her down about five years to being 22, probably? The age she would have been in actual 2012.
I'm leaning on doing Infiltrator Persona with her, but I haven't made a firm decision.
Delaunay is going to be Infiltrating as a veteran poetry instructor at Majesty's and also probably the head of Donatello House! He's still very French though, even if he works at a British school. He's going to probably be married to Helena, with Sara as his adopted daughter unless something changes?
Chie is going to be associated with Teikoku, but I haven't decided if she's Infiltrating as a student or Investigating and just falling in with the Japanese school. In any case, she's going to be a dancer by the end of the Jaunt.
I WILL PROBABLY TACK ANOTHER COMMENT ON LATER WHEN I KNOW MORE.
Phillip may or may not get tossed into plot role stuff, but he will be going to Majesty either way and probably in Michelangelo house, naturally specializing in theater with a dash of music but also doing some film/writing stuff (he just doesn't broadcast that as much). He is waaaay high up on the creativity meter and probably gets himself in a hell of a lot of trouble with it. I am up for friendship, rivalries, and also family so long as you don't mind that that might change if plot role happens.
Pearl is at Majesty as well, and she's a first year and very new and... still kind of trying to find her path. Probably Leonardo house? idk.
Prompto: Low born but talented at Majesty's, whatever his name is gonna be is the class clown sort but doesn't always understand where barriers are and lines should be drawn so he gets into trouble a bunch. Has a secret crush on one of his teachers. I am 100% down for him having a bullying nemesis if anyone wants to be a tool to the short, freckled kid with glasses and a camera.
Also tossed him at the Plucky Orphan of Destiny plot roll which matches up with what I had in mind anyway, so we'll see whats going on with that!
Davesprite: Being from Texas is of course going to be at Lone Star. Will be infilidating Jolie and rocking the poetry performance magic. Imagine slam poetry that actually slams you?
Gale: No idea yet.. possible investigator persona-ing?
MInerva Has been submitted for exactly the plot role you think she has. If she doesn't get that, she will be a teacher at Majesty's.
Jaina is infiltrating as Jane, a student at Majesty's (at least I think that's what we settled one). She's Allura's little sister and specializes in metalworking. Assuming I'm remember Majesty's correctly, she'll be Donatello House.
Wash and Rose are investigating because clearly they can't be infiltrated over ROSE'S BIRTHDAY. Also I hope everyone's ready for MAGIC FINGERPAINTING.
Death is going to be infiltrating as a student at... uh, NOT MAJESTY'S with the rest of that list, I'm trying not to trip over myself. Her art form is going to be makeup artistry and I'm up for infilCR if soemone has a role in their characterès life theyère dying to have filled.
Okay so, I changed my mind about Thorne being a teacher. She's going to student at Lone Star... so does Death want a friend who at age 17 dressed like she fell over in a Hot Topic?
Ochre is in the Lone Star Champion pot, but regardless on if he gets it, his specialty will be plushies, specifically ones enchanted with things you kinda always want your stuffed animals to do. Wards against nightmares, or just 'danger' in general. Night lights. Lights that flash to help slow breathing when you're panicking or anxious. Embroidered tags that ensure they don't get lost (these tags can also be applied to, say, your keys). Things like that, probably a lot of custom orders, too.
He likely also does some 'wards knit into clothing' things, but not as much as his plushies- that's what he'll be making and producing when he's out of school, after all.
As for CR- he's probably wolfthorn, so classmates, dormmates, people just after commissions, people he's badgering to teach him-
This dork is probably one of Ochre's best customers; she's canonically an anime and video games dweeb and her infiltration won't change that much. She'll be rooting for him before and after being de-infiltrated!
Sara will be the very British, very Raphaelite student Sara Schmitt-Montreve, with some NPC friends based heavily on her canon mates. And yes, that means she was adopted by Helena and Anafiel. She's a reasonably good cartoonist but also gets some transitory art magic by writing speculative fiction mangaesque comic books; Gabriel will be infiltrating as a living illustration she summoned as part of a class project.
Frederika Bernkastel will be a jovial little sprite of a woman, the former miko and current chaperone from the big fishy kaijudojo, Rika Furude. She's from a Hinamizawa where the Oni in the Onigafuchi were, uh, actual damn ogres instead of an elaborate metaphor - and while the Festival is still a thing it's a barbeque now and things got a lot less murderous. She teaches calligraphy and poetry, and everyone at the bar calls her Bernkastel because of her usual drink order.
Ringabel will be Investigating, and will probably try to angle for the judges bench since that's not happening with his powerset, he'll attempt to teach music and abuse his Entertainer's Asterisk and Oracle of Resonance powers.
Madoka will also be Investigating, sciencing the shit out of creative magic and seeing if she can bullshit deckbuilding or game design as a form of transitory artomancy. As a Japanese-American, she's gonna fake being from Foxcrest and also speak Japanese... perfectly... for a samurai, because she's from a cult with scabbards up thier butts; feel free to call her a weeb for it. Her response to the backstory will be "the evil overlord is dead? sounds fake, was there a body?" and she'll investigate that angle.
Madoka will be aided in her clever disguise by actually starting out as Madoka Madison, the biggest dork in Foxcrest, who's got a million and one game designs floating through her head - brilliant at the math behind it but not at her own illustration, so she'll be looking for collaborators!
She's going to get deinfiltrated by Thorne pretty quick and swiftly Malik Gambiting afterwards.
Naoya is going to be infiltrating this time - as a student from Lone Star because him griping about it later will be hilarious. Probably Wolfthorn, and he's going to be that one kid who has a stick up his ass all the time. (Think Draco but less my father and not malicious.) His overlay's name is going to be Nate, haven't figured out last name for him. If anyone wants to be family/friends/victims/whatever, go for it.
He specializes in magical computer code, with a side specialty in digital graphic art because he's having a hard time convincing people that coding is art.
Casper is going to be investigating with Laughs. He stopped aging at about 17ish so he can pass for a student. His cover is that his specialty is in ice sculptures, but he's not actually very good at him so someone might want to help him figure out a better cover story, fast.
I changed my mind about Thorne so she's going to be a high school senior in Wolfthorn SO HELLO DORMMATE? She's going by 'Charley' since that's basically what she actually did in high school, as 'Charlene' is a terrible name.
(If nothing else, she might actually believe him about coding being art, because her dad is a programmer.)
Eliot will be infiltrating as Elidyr Llewellyn, dance instructor at Majesty's, though he may also teach a mundane subject since there are, like, 3 people interested in being dance teachers there. XD His particular style is interpretive dance, and no one would guess it to look at him - he is disheveled and kind of nerdy looking. Margo is infiltrating as his weird one-eyed cat who does not talk.
McCree will also be infiltrating as Joselito McCree (who goes by Jose or Jesse), but he is, of course, Lone Star. I'm thinking either music teacher (guitar), or some kind of mundane thing who does music magic on the side. He's slightly aged up, in his 40s, and has a checkered past - I'm thinking he did something in law enforcement for awhile, maybe has this world's equivalent of battle magic (like a D&D bard kind of thing maybe?). He's only been at Lone Star for two years, but he's a likeable guy.
Colonel Tick-Tock will be infiltrating, for the trifecta. As a student of Majesty's of course, Nigel Tittensor (real last name, and yes, he gets teased a lot). He is one of the students who doesn't have a lot of creativity, but works his ass off and is really good at the craft. He mostly does sculpture - woodworking in particularly, with a special interest in creating enchanted clocks, but also some jewelry and metal working. He's in his last year, and he's kind of a huge nerd - he gets a lot of shit for being one of the weaker students in terms of power, but probably a lot of people come to him for homework help. He's from the House of Michaelangelo, but he doesn't always get along with his housemates, since he is not laid back, he tends to be a bit of a workaholic.
Keith is infiltrating as a Lone Star Student of Hawkridge Dorm, likely a senior.
He's a more technically proficient sort as opposed to traditionally creative.
He specializes in pyrotechnics (Firework displays, stage effects, etc.), with a side of being good at stage combat/stuntwork. He can do passable landscapes and probably spends a fair amount of time out hiking and caving.
Inigo is investigating, but I just wanted to say he'd probably find Keith's specialisation so cool. Considering he comes from Ye Olde Medieval Fantasy Times he's never even considered stuff like pyrotechnics in that sense before, but then once he'd find out about it he'd think it's so cool. He might fanboy a little.
Ambrose is going to be Prof. Ambrose Gideon LeFevre at Lone Star, teaching English and focusing on poetry and oration. Born and raised in Topeka, Kansas, he's also a graduate of Lone Star and was in Foxcrest. He's you're typical hippie-like artsy teacher with a dash of absent-minded professor.
Also: infiltrator persona so I can get some dingy-dang psychic stuff in this jaunt.
So Eliot is ending up Majesty's, but maybe they can meet and hang? Also, I have McCree over at Lone Star as a music teacher, so they could have some existing CR? McCree is going to be an easy going type who quietly disapproves of the rodeo in general, and has only been there a couple of years.
Vilari will be infiltrating as Aoife O'Connell, an Irish dance instructor at Majesty's, formerly a professional ballerina who then branched out into other forms of dance, fencing, and then came around to teaching. Her husband/partner/boyfriend??? is Riddick, the Scottish bearman. She'll be a bit older than her canon but not by much (36).
Asa will be Asha Adams, a soon to graduate sculpting student from Lone Star, close to graduating and specialising in making whimsical building structures. Not sure that she'll be competing, but she might at least be attending as support. She will be aged down for this purpose to be 18. She's still extremely tall, but under 7'.
Jacob, still Jacob Frye, is a boxing instructor at Majesty's, but has a background in dance magic. He just doesn't like to use it, if possible, so he sticks to sticks and fists. In a pinch, he can work as a substitute for other phys. ed related activities, and if you ply him with some very fine liquor, he might be coaxed into subbing for a dance class as well. Jacob will be aged up to his 40s. He tells a different story about his life before Majesty's every single time.
Well, we know Jacob and Jesse will have background together, but Jacob and Eliot (Elidyr for this go around) should know each other, too! Also, I think Nigel would like to take boxing classes, so maybe Jacob can be one of the teachers he has a hopeless crush on (the other being Riddick)?
Leo is going to be infiltrating this round! Obviously a Majesty's student, in his final year, and in Donatello house. His speciality is poetry, deep, dark, soulful poetry and there may or may not be rumours about how much his very aristocratic family helped him get in.
In other words he'll be a stuck up prick, so I'm 100% on the look out for anyone who wants to have established negative CR with him, or anyone who would be from a similar family that may have connections with his outside the school (negative or positive!).
OKAY BUT HIS HEAD OF HOUSE IS ALSO HIS POETRY TEACHER. Who might be occasionally shaking his head about the subject matter when it gets a bit over the top, but helps him with his rhyme and metre and, like, hands him Baudelaire and Rimbaud.
Professor Montreve, you're one to talk. I know what things YOU wrote when you were seventeen.
Anyway, yes, hi. So Delaunay and Leo should def have some interaction on this Jaunt. Especially because he too is from an old, rich family. Like, in his actual canon too before he got disinherited, but in this Jaunt's AU (where he wasn't disinherited) as well. Only his is French.
Inigo will be infiltrating! He's still young enough to easily pass for a student, and he'll be super interested in performative magic, especially the dance kind. He loves dancing and is actually really creative and good at it by nature, but he's also a huge shy weenie nerd deep down who would never dare to admit that he'd like to try dancing. So he'll just be pining about the dance classes and performances from the sides. Someone help this nerd fulfill his life long dreams during this Jaunt.
Or just tell me if you want any particular Jaunt shenanigans with him in general! c:
prompto is going to be taking dance lessons even tho he's a photography guy because he has a crush on the teacher but maybe he can convince inigo to try?
Daneel will be doing the infiltrator persona thing as Dan Oliver a professor from Lone Star, though he's not from Texas himself -- he's from New Jersey, originally, from a wealthy family. He's a music teacher, and his own specialty is healing magic, but performative magic in general is his thing. He's a serious sort of person, but gentle and kind to his students. If you're in trouble, Mr. Oliver is a good teacher to go to.
He has a black-and-white winged cat that's the size of dog, as well, as a constant companion who started out life as a sketch brought to life. She was was a gift from an old schoolfriend who died tragically.
Zed is going to be infiltrator persona-ing as thirteen-year-old Zedward Damian Masters, son of a couple of rich people who somehow made it big playing the stock market. They've determined that their little snowflake is the specialest of all, and as such, this kid grew up sans any sort of rules or boundaries and was basically allowed to do as he pleased and matured into a brat. He's a Majesty's student in the House of Michelangelo, and there's absolutely nothing Zed will be able to do as himself that would make anyone bat an eye at his behavior, because he is That Kid who regularly covers himself in glitter and/or silver body paint and leaves a trail of mess around for other people to deal with. He regrets nothing.
Sento is going to be investigating on Baby's First Jaunt, where he'll be aged down to about sixteen and floundering hard because this is not math, this is not physics, magic isn't real, this has got to be just advanced science, help. Bonus: he's got amnesia and remembers exactly zero details of his own school days, so this is all going to be kind of weird and new for him and he will not like it. I'm hoping to have him pass as a random new student at the Japanese school, where he's going to find himself in Mosura house because he's not very good at any of this--endless pages of hastily-scribbled equations are not art, and Sento lacks the sort of bullshitting creativity that would allow him to try to contextualize and reframe them as such. He will, however eventually end up making Rubik's cube mosaics because I won't have to do any research I find the idea hilarious, and it's mathematical enough for him.
Hajime is going to be infiltrating as a Teikoku student because Tachibana won't have enough trouble in his life! He's going to be sixteen, a terrible delinquent, and all too ready to pick a fight. (With bonus slicked-back pompadour because I'm going all in on ridiculousness here.) He's going to have an NPC little sister who has him wrapped around her little finger, so there's that much hope he won't make too much trouble. He'll be primarily into photography.
(Bonus, the assistant headmasters normally are the ones who deal with the problem children in the first place so they like are already very well acquainted.)
Lupa will be infiltrating as a woman named Girija Patil, who is at Majesty's while on a teacher exchange. She is from the premier magic school in India (name tbd) and specializes in body art. She's actually travelled extensively around south, south-east, and east Asia, studying different forms of tattoo art, and is quite skilled at it, but primarily teaches henna (although she'll take on individual students in other styles of tattoo art). She dabbles a little bit in make-up (but not well enough to teach it), and other branches like body piercings (but mostly with a very good instinct for combining effects and aesthetics).
She also knows some traditional dance-magic, thanks to her family insisting that she be instructed in various forms of dance as a child. Her creativity doesn't extend to dance, so she is only able to recreate the effects of different traditional dances with low potency, but she does possess decent technical skill.
Looking for friends, students, and hell, I'd be up for an infil-ship for her too.
Pod will be investigating! She'll be passing off her healing song from Newport as singing magic, and badly explaining Kiga away as a familiar (what do you mean familiars aren't a thing in this world? XP)
