CHARACTER RECLAIMS
From now until endgame, Synodiporia is closed to new applications. However, players who dropped or idled characters but who do not have a behavioral strike against them may reclaim characters at any time. Dungeons and app windows are no longer necessary. Simply comment below with "I'd like to bring [character (username)] back!" And we'll take it from there. Players already at 3 characters who wish to bring back a 4th or 5th may do so so long as they're current on AC. Players wishing to bring in characters above 5 may request special mod permission. garrett // thief
ABILITIES:
Stealth - Living in the City as a thief for over twenty years, Garrett is a master of blending and becoming hidden in the dark, of disappearing suddenly or not being there at all. He’s been referred to [by the director of Thief] being like a cat or raccoon, with the moves and strength of a ballet dancer. This is simply a style choice and something he’s learned over the years. It is difficult to hear him move when he wants and he comes and goes when he pleases. More than once he refers himself as a “ghost” within the City. He’s a pro at what he does and he’s constantly looking to do things that improve his skills.
Agility - Having to move around the city both in alleyways and on rooftops has made Garrett incredibly swift in movement, escaping, and combat. While his speed isn’t anything beyond what a normal human can learn, his reflexes are honed on the right twist, the right flick and the exact moment of when and where he should move or go. This has ended up saving his life more than once on the more dangerous heists he’s performed. He can climb walls (provided he has the Claw and there’s something there for him to grab onto), race across rooftops, jump between hanging ropes, and quickly switch directions and avoid flaming arrows.
Swoop - A skill where Garrett ducks low to the ground, and with a burst of speed, becomes a blur as he moves several feet in whatever direction he wants. This is most commonly used to pass through small lit sections of the City, to avoid being detected by an enemy, or behind a guard after he passes by in a patrol. It covers a small distance and is used for cover and from getting from one place to another, however it has the tendency to gather attention if used over loud surfaces (such as puddles or broken glass).
Weapon skills - Garrett is familiar with archery and with the use of blunt objects as weapons. It is unknown how long he has been using them, but can be assumed for quite some time by the beginning of the game.
Engineer - The master thief is an inventor, a tinkerer, someone who can take things apart and put them back together and understand how they are made and then make his own. Everything Garrett owns (aside from his loot collection) is something he’s made. His bow, his arrows, even the clothes he wears- all of them were made by him and made by hand. He is exceptionally clever and can adjust something to make it work for him, or whatever he plans to do.
Thief Skills:
Focus - An ability gained from accidentally falling through the flames of the Primal, located in his right eye. Focus allows Garrett to see things within the environment that are able to be interacted with, showing up as a light blue normally, and bright white within his Focus vision if turned on. These include hidden doors, switches, buttons, or anything else he can use his bow, Claw or Blackjack, to get to. Traps and threats show up as red in this vision as well, and depending on the awareness of a citizen or guard, they can show up as one of three colors- Blue [meaning unaware], Orange [meaning suspicious], and Red [meaning alert and aware].
In addition, if Focus is activated and Garrett does certain actions, Focus amplifies them. These include Intuition, Dexterity, Marksman, Sense, Combat, Speed, Efficiency, and Stealth.
INVENTORY; Being a master thief, Garrett has literally an arsenal of tools and tricks on him for getting in and out of places.
If you would like to alter this inventory, by all means, feel free to, mods! He constantly carries this much in canon, as he’s a man who has to prepare for everything at any time. 8’| (he also apparently has spare space to carry any loot he finds, THE MAN IS A PACK RAT AND A HOARDER)
ANYTHING ELSE WE SHOULD KNOW?
I’d super love for Garrett to be a veteran Traveler. Not a hugely long one, like some others here, I’m thinking more of the 7-8 range for Jaunts. But he’s used to the idea and what happens, and what’s needed to prepare and all that stuff. He’s also gotten to know people but he’s not much of a socializer (more than likely people would’ve called him an ass or a sourpuss or a killjoy, etc etc)
He hated Moeibus though. B(((( He can’t remember his other Jaunts before and the asylum gave him bad vibes of Moira back home.
