Taichi "Lefty" Shirai. 6 foot 3 inches. Scarred across the face. Missing his right arm from the shoulder down. Odd jobs, sells vegetables and eggs. Painkiller junkie and alcoholic.
A jaded ex-outlaw, injured in a stampede last year and unable to resume outlaw duties. He used to be extremely well known, charming, daring, accomplished. Now he raises Space Chickens and takes care of a little garden patch in the back of a carefully maintained but tiny house with a Space Dog. He can't afford a prosthetic, so he's down to one arm. Sells his veggies and eggs and the occasional poulet.
He's tired and jaded, at 26, and trying to figure out how to rethink his entire life now that nothing is going where it used to be.
Altaïr (infilname pending) would have considered putting a bullet in that amateur who hecked up the stampede if he'd been there. Now I bet he comes around between jobs and tries to get Taichi to eat food versus alcohol.
Z Andromeda, or "Zee", is a beautiful sorrel mare - an American Quarter Horse with a rich, reddish-brown coat and a white star and stripe down her nose and one white sock on her left hind leg. She stands about 14.6 hands high at the shoulder, and is strong, agile, and attentive. She's friendly and had taken a shine to Altair even before Taichi's accident, lipping at his hair and clothing and occasionally bumping him with her powerful hindquarters or shoulder to get his attention. She likes her withers scratched.
She's a few years old, now, into her adulthood, able to have foals if he wants to breed her, but she hasn't had any yet. She tends to be fairly quiet unless she's in a stable, and even then it's mostly limited to whickering and snorting rather than full on whinnies. If she yells at you, you know something's wrong.
Up for having partnered up on occasion with Jacob/John in the past before the accident? The kid looked older than he was and would probably have gotten into more trouble than he's worth. Probably comes by every now and then trying to convince Taichi to get back in the saddle literally?
Otherwise Vilari/Valentine is a former smuggler who until a few months ago could have been providing cheaper alcohols on the sly and might still do if he ever swings by Eliot's bar.
Aaand otherwise there's Asa/Asra, Ambrose's wife, who also lost (part) of her arm on a cattle run. She's a bit tough-love-ish and even if she could help put together an affordable prosthetic for him (and cover most of the cost herself), she could be holding out until he cleans up his act and actually asks for it?

But you're always welcome to come talk and shoot the shit and eat with them. He misses going out riding with you.
