Gosh. Um. I do not think so, BUT it could spot active haunting sites the way it normally would spot plot-relevant characters or clues, and poltergeist activity the way it would hostile targets.
If he were to get curious and try to find out why, is it because of the separate plane of existence thing which seems to be going on, so the ghosts aren't "there" until their effects punch through to our side with some ability or other?
