Week 2 Jaunt Summary / Week 3 Plotting!

Week 2:

The end of Service Week brings with it a shipment of parts for the Solomon Ring - and the long-awaited protests regarding its installation. Feelings about those protests run the gamut from joining in to being deeply unsettled. Either way, security is out in force, in all shapes and sizes.

Claudia continues tracking down information on the Solomon Ring in general and the Kau Lung Incursion in particular - just in time for the Manticore Knights to realise their lost spy may have popped back up on the radar, and for poor Joscelin to end up in far hotter water than he realises. Malik is busy eavesdropping the old-fashioned way. Chie tries her hand at vigilantism… rather poorly, unfortunately, until she figures out her Persona is an option. Zoe gets some flak from protesters. Asa suspects this whole thing is vaguely familiar. Kanji settles into a job with a fashion designer. Yosuke stumbles into an Empowered ability to call his own, and isn’t sure he likes it. Tybalt trolls some protesters and sets up a spy network of cats. Tachibana reaches out to some local Empowered kids. Natsumi finds a job and parlays it into a chance to sneak around the wharfs and look for info. Minako makes an effort to, well, make an effort after noping out so hard in Rome.

The White Company hosts a garden party/recruiting session. The MacGregor family has its monthly dinner. Altair and Legion go a-heisting. Matthew puts his life-sensing abilities to use trying to find someone for Thorne; unfortunately, ‘Alan’ is long gone. Rosalie is determined to have a little fun, even in the midst of Kau Lung coming back to haunt her. Starburst makes the most of the night life, and finds a lost child, setting Imriel on the road to reuniting with his mom. Thorne snoops around both the protests and the Solomon Ring site, catching John and Mako’s attention in the middle of the week; she dies during their interrogation of her, providing the investigators with some information upon revival. Gregory gets ever closer to a literal meltdown. Lily tries her hand at helping people. Avery gets into a spot of trouble. Jouhei and Ai are at pretty serious odds with each other - too bad they’re stuck sharing a body. The Wraith is after information on the Solomon Ring.

Week 3:
Security sweeps mean confrontations, team-ups, and inconveniences for people on every side of the law. Are you for the surveillance state or against it? Sympathetic to the Manticore Knights, or to honest vigilantes and newcomers? It's a situation that makes for strange bedfellows, whether it's working a traffic stop together, being stuck in a holding cell, or hiding behind a dumpster with someone you only just met. And Investigators and Infiltrators have a good opportunity to learn about one another's abilities and coordination...

Imriel and Armin

Imriel, after reuniting with his mother, will probably be heading to a school of some sort. I don't think I have any other plans for him yet, and am open to anything you want to plan.

...Although if the government finds out about it, I imagine they might be very interested in Imri's nullification power.

On the other hand Armin, having copied stationary portal creation from Joscelin the previous week, will be making his way into liminal space. I am not entirely certain what will happen at that point, and anyone investigating is welcome to plot something.

Upon coming back, Armin may well be arrested on suspicion of being in league with the Travelers. And he may then attempt to break out - not for his own sake, but because he knows River will try to break him out and he doesn't want her to get into danger. If he does it fast enough, he's the only one that's broken any law.

Oh jeez. I'm down with running into Armin in Liminal here...although she might try to kill him on the basis of Apparently Bad Things Happen When People Learn About Travelers. Of course, she could also be tricked or talked out of that since she hasn't been in a Jaunt where that was a problem.

Armin will be running into Mikasa too, and that would probably cause extremely bad blood with her if she sees you try to kill Armin, just as fair warning.

Also, attempting to kill him would probably result in Armin having to revert back to his shield powers - at which point he'd probably be pretty hard to kill, but he couldn't get away cuz he'd no longer have stationary portal creation.

Maybe for the sake of not making things worse than they already are she can stick to aggression and intimidation, with a focus on "how in the name of all 72 demons of the Ars Goetia did you get in here?"

As long as he thinks he's legitimately in danger, he'll probably have to revert to shield powers and become trapped.
awitchdidit: (but what's puzzlin' you is the)

[personal profile] awitchdidit 2016-07-27 02:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm. Well, I don't want to break up any plans or plots because my violence-prone character just happens to catch yours in a place he shouldn't be. We could either skip this or I could rethink it into a more subtle information-gathering encounter.
tobegood: (confused)

No, no, you misunderstand! I am totally fine with this happening, and in fact would probably prefer he become trapped in liminal for a while. Mikasa and Thorne may already be trying to figure out how to do so, because they know he's dangerous if he has so much information about them (but unlike Bea, they probably wouldn't be willing to hurt him).

It doesn't have to happen, if you'd prefer something subtler. But don't refrain from doing it on my account

Well, if it helps, we can definitely do that. I hope Armin likes goat, because that's what's most likely going to happen.
tobegood: (guilty)

[personal profile] tobegood 2016-07-27 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
....goat is most likely what's going to happen? I'm not entirely sure I follow.

That was me being whimsical about Beatrice's Summon Creature ability, which gets her one of these handsome fellows. It's kind of technically her only actual attack ability other than Limaniping herself a weapon right now...
