Week 2 Jaunt Summary / Week 3 Plotting!
Week 2:
The end of Service Week brings with it a shipment of parts for the Solomon Ring - and the long-awaited protests regarding its installation. Feelings about those protests run the gamut from joining in to being deeply unsettled. Either way, security is out in force, in all shapes and sizes.
Claudia continues tracking down information on the Solomon Ring in general and the Kau Lung Incursion in particular - just in time for the Manticore Knights to realise their lost spy may have popped back up on the radar, and for poor Joscelin to end up in far hotter water than he realises. Malik is busy eavesdropping the old-fashioned way. Chie tries her hand at vigilantism… rather poorly, unfortunately, until she figures out her Persona is an option. Zoe gets some flak from protesters. Asa suspects this whole thing is vaguely familiar. Kanji settles into a job with a fashion designer. Yosuke stumbles into an Empowered ability to call his own, and isn’t sure he likes it. Tybalt trolls some protesters and sets up a spy network of cats. Tachibana reaches out to some local Empowered kids. Natsumi finds a job and parlays it into a chance to sneak around the wharfs and look for info. Minako makes an effort to, well, make an effort after noping out so hard in Rome.
The White Company hosts a garden party/recruiting session. The MacGregor family has its monthly dinner. Altair and Legion go a-heisting. Matthew puts his life-sensing abilities to use trying to find someone for Thorne; unfortunately, ‘Alan’ is long gone. Rosalie is determined to have a little fun, even in the midst of Kau Lung coming back to haunt her. Starburst makes the most of the night life, and finds a lost child, setting Imriel on the road to reuniting with his mom. Thorne snoops around both the protests and the Solomon Ring site, catching John and Mako’s attention in the middle of the week; she dies during their interrogation of her, providing the investigators with some information upon revival. Gregory gets ever closer to a literal meltdown. Lily tries her hand at helping people. Avery gets into a spot of trouble. Jouhei and Ai are at pretty serious odds with each other - too bad they’re stuck sharing a body. The Wraith is after information on the Solomon Ring.
Week 3:
Security sweeps mean confrontations, team-ups, and inconveniences for people on every side of the law. Are you for the surveillance state or against it? Sympathetic to the Manticore Knights, or to honest vigilantes and newcomers? It's a situation that makes for strange bedfellows, whether it's working a traffic stop together, being stuck in a holding cell, or hiding behind a dumpster with someone you only just met. And Investigators and Infiltrators have a good opportunity to learn about one another's abilities and coordination...

PLOTTING
Raidou, Minako, and Cassandra
At the beginning of the week, her link to the network will abruptly disappear. There will be no physical or psychic trace of her for a couple of days, until she suddenly pops up back in Newport, apparently none the worse for wear... but still disconnected from the network. She will remain disconnected for at least the rest of the week, and probably the following week as well. She can still interact with people in person, but that's it.
(There are reasons for this, which will hopefully become clear when she gets back.)
I don't as yet have set plans for Raidou/Jouhei/Ai, although I do need Ai to be removed from their shared body by the end of the Jaunt. This may possibly involve her death.
Cassandra/Revenant continues not to give a good goddamn about much of anything. Her license and insurance are waaaaaay out of date following her death and reanimation, though, so she will probably be staying as far from Manticore as possible.
Matthew & the Angels/Seraphim
Before then, I don't have any particular plans for this mingle. Matthew does have all his paperwork, but I'm definitely up for him getting questioned anyway (especially about the Seraphim). I'll probably be tagging out rather than making an open top level, so let me know if you want either Matthew or the Seraphim anywhere.
Imriel and Armin
...Although if the government finds out about it, I imagine they might be very interested in Imri's nullification power.
On the other hand Armin, having copied stationary portal creation from Joscelin the previous week, will be making his way into liminal space. I am not entirely certain what will happen at that point, and anyone investigating is welcome to plot something.
Upon coming back, Armin may well be arrested on suspicion of being in league with the Travelers. And he may then attempt to break out - not for his own sake, but because he knows River will try to break him out and he doesn't want her to get into danger. If he does it fast enough, he's the only one that's broken any law.

Altair
Which leads me to a question for any Manticore Knights or White Company: What sort of security would be around the King and Queen? Is this even feasible? Would you like him to succeed or fail? And (this goes for all players) how would you like your character to help or hinder Altair? He's got a wrist knife, the latest spy training, Eagle Vision, and a Cap of Invisibility artifact that works by draining stamina. He can steal other weapons as needed. His (well, his infiltrator's) capture and/or death are now on the table.

Or summon a demon and be a decoy. She rather enjoys that job.
I failed to read that he was Infiltrating for a second there, but honestly Beatrice is just as willing to help an Infiltrator do the thing if he chooses to get in contact with "Madam Sphynx"

Kenzaki
There is even the possibility, once he realizes he's in hot water, that he'll let himself get taken in on purpose, just to learn what he can about what's going on. He thinks that he doesn't actually know enough about things to be too much of a problem if picked up, and is also still convinced that he's functionally immortal and is thus not particularly afraid of what might be done to him. (I am very much down for him being unpleasantly corrected about the latter, if it's likely to come to that.)
Re: PLOTTING
Chie will possibly be with the White Company, if I can backdate a thread for her joining up at the party mingle.
Maria is still doing her own thing i.e. basically being Cardcaptor Sakura, although now she'll probably have MK/WC people bothering her while she does it.

Melissa is desperately going to be keeping herself Imri off the radar until she can get proper papers, and, assuming she figures out what powers he has, she's also going to be trying to make sure no one takes too much of an interest in them. She's also going to try and get him signed up for school, probably contacting Professor M'?

Natsumi and Right
But, if she does end up in the custody of the White Company, though, expect a psychic post about that pretty soon. ...at least she'll have a better chance of coming out of it alive and (relatively) unscathed than she would with the Knights?
Right, on the other hand, isn't gonna have any kind of paperwork on hand. He's a hero; he can just prove it by transforming and saving people, right? Wrong! So, he's definitely gonna get into some trouble with the Knights. Either I may let him be captured, or he's going to portal out...in front of the Knights. Anyone interested in either options?

Also, for this week, his cloak, armor, and boots are going to finally start actually disintegrating for being in the horrible wicked sun for too long. So he's going to look like a mighty hobo until they fall apart completely on him at the end of the week.
Davesprite/Nick of Time/White Rabbit is donning a new mask due to some mind invasion shenanigans from a certain vigilante telepath that made him super paranoid. It's VERY OLD and he hasn't used it in over SIXTY YEARS. So if anyone is into Empowered history, maybe they'll recognise it as The White Rabbit, an old timey thief that had never been caught, suspected empowered but no one ever found out what he could do.
Faed and Gale/Davison - Don't have any specific plans set up for them as of yet, but if anyone wants a bug in a mech suit or a grumpy ex-marine with switchblade bones, let me know!

Lupa, Pod, Tybalt
Well, first day or so of the mingle, there's going to be a volcano spirit going for a walk around town in Gregory's body, probably causing collateral damage, and woe betide anyone that tries to stop her/them. Anyone want to run into her/them on the Knights or WC side? Or the private team side. Or the civilian side.
Later in the week is maybe a little more plotty! Because of said walk, I want Gregory to end up basically with an updated warrant for his arrest and active pursuit (he already has one, probably due to burning down part of Newport years ago... and going on the run and burning down several other places since) so who wants in on that
and maybe part responsibility for the rampage I want to start next mingle off withTybalt
Tybalt is too old and crafty to get caught.. right away. With a little help from illusions, and maybe a bit of temporary thieving, he's going to be able to present a reasonable facsimile of a tourist visa when asked.
The thing is! Second day of the week or so, he's going to start feeling bad about leaving leaves or mushrooms or strips of random paper in tills, so he's going to start up an impromptu theater company! They'll be setting up a mobile stage each evening (probably in the plaza at least some of the nights?) and performing Shakespeare, with part of the profits going to Jolie's charity. There will be a psychic post for investigators at some point soon to organize IC, but who wants in?
And who wants to call him on not having the proper paperwork to do such a thing laterIn other news, he'll also be spying via cats. I'd really like the cats to turn up something interesting at least once, so anybody want a cat spying on them?
He'll also be poking around the Ring site in cat form later in the week, probably in the middle of the night, and can offer investigators a way around the checkpoints, at the price of being freezing cold and possibly traumatized for life (the Shadow Roads are not a fun place to travel through).
Pod
Lily's going to NOPE right out of going anywhere for most of the week, at least not without copious sneaking. But she'll feel bad about good people getting caught for stupid reasons, so I'd like to her to 'rescue' someone and guide them around some checkpoints at least once later in the week. Anyone up for that?

Rise and Beatrice
Beatrice, meanwhile, is going to be offering her services in deceit and illusions to help people get around the security checkpoints - Investigators first, but she won't say no to Infiltrator or local crooks either. She's also going to take the opportunity to research how to get close to the Solomon Ring before or during its activation...once I figure out the right questions to ask.
Rosalie
Her attitude to all the Knight stuff is very This Is My Job, so she's unlikely to look away from infractions or to use unnecessary force, if that helps with plotting purposes. Though all this Kau Lung Incursion aftermath stuff does have her a little more on-edge than usual... *grins*
Beyond this general stuff I have no particular plans for this mingle. o/

MAKO - questioning people
Mako will be around, and probably pulling people aside to talk to them. If you want your character to be questioned (with whatever degree of Actual Force), please let me know here. He will not be questioning people at random without mun approval.
I will also note, that he is getting more paranoid as he goes, and will likely be more dangerous towards either Infiltrators or Investigators who seem out of sorts.
At this point, he's not too interested in the Joscelin situation, other than a confirmation of what he found out from Thorne.
So, if you have ideas, either fantastic or terrible, please let me know! I'd be very interested in having him question an Investigator or two and catch them lying through their teeth.

Riddick I dunno yet. Maybe meeting up with his old girlfriend? If he can convince her to let him. Whether he's out and about doing hero things depends pretty much entirely on what Rorschach wants to do. Otherwise, his papers are in order, and he may make the snake-demon stay at home so he's clean, too. With girlfriend AND Lily to worry about, he's gonna play it safe, I think.
Jolie is gonna be pissed. She's a normal, has all her papers in order, but this is totally unnecessary and stupid and unfair and she did not come to this country to live in a police state that is scaring her charity kids and charity donors alike, dammit!
Zoe ... may need help. She is a giant horned woman with four arms and no papers whatsoever. She could make forgeries if somebody gives her an example, but I have a feeling she'd be caught before that could happen. She may either have to escape through a portal and spend the rest of the Jaunt as a human, or else need rescuing by somebody else with documentation for her :P

Otherwise ... getting into scrapes himself? I'm not sure.
Re: PLOTTING
As the Wraith, she's entirely willing to help people who find themselves trying to dodge checkpoints escape via rooftops and back alleys, and might be willing to help them find a safe place to lie low and some documentation...for a price.
She'll also be very quietly putting out feelers for potential buyers for some plans for the Solomon Ring, because why not make a little extra profit?
River is a legal hero with her papers in order, though she's opposed to the security checks on principle, and will be more than a little worried and protective of her family until things settle down. She probably won't actively help anyone escape, unless things tip over from people being overzealous to people being actively brutal, but if any other freelancers want to discuss or debate the issue, she's open for that.
And at some point her hero-partner-slash-boyfriend is going to be vanishing down a portal for some indeterminate period of time and potentially getting arrested afterward, so this is shaping up to be a lousy week.
Varric will be very quietly offering a place to hide out for a few hours/a night to those who might need it, because surveillance states are bullshit. I would love for this to go badly for him - his powers can minimize conflict, but that only goes so far - if anyone's looking to get their jackbooted thug on.
Liara will be trying to evade checkpoints and pull together some documentation. She may wind up having to make use of her alternate form to blend in a little better...and since that alternate form happens to be vampiric in nature, that'll pose some problems of its own.
She'll be willing to patch up anyone who's hurt escaping checkpoints/fighting with the authorities/fighting with other people evading checkpoints in exchange for gossip or somewhere to lie low for a while.

Wash: Mostly trying to figure out if you need a license to have powers if you're a baby...
Jaina: Is going to want some help with ID since she currently... has none. Also licensing (someone not me from the school want to help her get registered?). Also going to be unsettled by how much this sounds like stories she's heard of what happened under the Empire. Don't be like the Empire guys, they blow up planets, that's not a reasonable problem solving strategy.

Hajime, Professor Stein, Jules, and Zed
Professor Stein will also probably be running into a bit of trouble with the Manticore Knights, especially because he's already been flagged as a potential problem and doesn't realize it yet. Whoops. (Note: I am planning on dropping him after this Jaunt because four characters is a little much for me to handle, but I am game for chaos while we can get it.)
Zed/King Darkness will probably both meet with a little trouble in his civilian identity and get stuck working with the Manticore Knights as part of the White Company's assistance. Neither of these things is going to make him very happy.
Jules will be trying to keep his head down and focus on the school, but what is a scenario like this without his penchant for getting stuck in the wrong place at the wrong time without his wallet and ID and having to call for help?

Claudia and Naoki
Claudia, having seen something like this coming and being a dab hand at falsifying identification papers (look, she got her brother from the States to Switzerland and back several times on a passport that needed some... creative date fudging), will be offering to make credible papers for anyone who needs 'em. ID papers only, you're on your own for casualty insurance proofs and the like. She will also be continuing her research online, folding tarot symbolism into the mix in an effort to figure out who's behind this and what the hell they want.
Naoki I still have very few ideas for, and may not toplevel with this time out. He'll be... around. Doing stuff. Fretting about Minako a bit, most likely.
Mikasa, Korra, Winry
Mikasa might be busy this week considering I plan to have them chase her on the streets, run into John again and probably get arrested by him.
Then or maybe before that, however this works better there's Armin arriving to Liminal Space and well, she'll be fast to notice that he's not actually Armin despite her first reaction on seeing him. She'll try to keep him there, I have no idea how well or badly that will go but she'll teamwork with Thorne for this. I'm all for whatever your characters' reaction might be for seeing an infilrator in Liminal -- but just a fair warning, that Mikasa is all about protecting her family with very fierce rage, so if you try to hurt/kill Armin, that ... won't go well if she's around, same with any kind of negative reaction to him. Not that I mind her verbally or physically fighting with others about it at all, sounds just like canon to her where she gets angry at Levi for being a little shit at her family. So it's not like I want to limit anyone's reactions on seeing him, I'm just saying my brat is really bad with negative stuff happening to the people, who she considers as her family. Help with keeping Armin in liminal though as Thomas said he might prefer above there? She'll probably like it, she might just be bad at showing it.
Korra might be getting chased on the streets too but at least she can run away by herself with Avatar Powers if she gets in trouble. 8D She'll make a post about the dangers of mercury / quicksilver as soon as I figure out how to write it since she knows a lot about that stuff, thank you canon, and knows that one of the infiltrators ( John aka Jean's overlay ) has mercury powers this jaunt. If you run into John and that stuff, come see Korra after it and she'll make sure you don't have any mercury in your bodies.
Winry aka Wendy for this jaunt changed infiltrating plans near the end of last week, since I couldn't get my head into her previous plans, orz. If your character needs a weapon, come talk to her and she'll make one or more for them or has them ready / just needs to make edits to what she has around already! Totally inspired by how she can make any weapon inside an automail too as that happens in her series a lot. 8D
Dan/Reynard
He is doing this for the very simple reason that while some of his paperwork is fine, some of it definitely is not, and his birth certificate is a forgery because that's not a thing spirits have, and the very last thing he wants to do is be arrested and draw attention to himself because even if he's quite certain he can escape any prison anyone cares to put him in, especially any Earth prison, it will probably mean the end for this particular alias and he likes being Dan Oliver.
And there's always a chance someone might drag him into the presence of the Manticore before he can get away and that would end even more badly. Possibly with his death. So no thanks.
So! He's going to be avoiding barriers as much as possible. He's pretty good at passing them at least in his real shape, but not perfect, so he's rather not take the risk except for the most basic of basic roadblocks. I'm up for "hey you get back here" shenanigans, if necessary.
