Infiltrator CR Meme!
Once you've decided what role you want to play as an infiltrator, brainwashed to believe you belong in 1930s Brooklyn, this is the place to talk with other players about shared backstory and relationships you'd like to plan out for the plot. If you're playing a plot-important role, we'd ask that you not disclose any plot secrets here, obviously, and for ease of identification we ask that characters not change their first names unless absolutely necessary for suspension of disbelief, but otherwise everything is fair game! Just make a top-level comment below with your character's name in the subject line, fill out the little form, and then tag around as you like!
Remy LeBeau
Backstory/Description of new identity: card-dealer at the Midnight Rose, pool hustler at Ocean's place, omnipresent, seedy, and for sale, his only loyalties are to aces and eight-balls.
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: Very little has changed, except that he thinks he belongs here, & may not recognize your character.
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: witty banter, con-man shenanigans, and general funtimes!

Re: Remy LeBeau
Joscelin Verreuil
Backstory/Description of new identity: Joscelin's a french catholic immigrant, sent away from seminary for an unspecified incident, taken under the wing of the Family priests who hear Gravesend mobsters' confessions and assigned to said mobsters as a bodyguard. A silent, sullen virtuoso with a pair of switchblades, Joscelin is clearly unhappy about... well, everything... but he hasn't opened up to anyone and he does what he's told.
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: significantly less in the way of a visible moral compass, to say the least. Doesn't speak good English, relying mostly on french and sign language.
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: I'd like to see people try to get past his shell - both friendly and unfriendly people! And I'd like ethically complex bodyguarding shenanigans.

Tim Drake
Backstory/Description of new identity: Drake's kind of a comic nobody in the gang world. An out-of towner who proved helpeful in dodging the law, he was hired on as a freelancer after several months of hanging around at all the wrong parties looking dapper and awkward. The White Ribbon of his nickname is meant to display that he's taken the Temperance pledge.
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: a little more focus on being an awkward outsider in this scenario, but not much besides that.
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: Anything!!

Re: Tim Drake
Toshizou Hijikata
Backstory/Description of new identity: The son of a Gravesend enforcer and his immigrant wife, Toshi grew up and straight into the business in his teens, and was a trusted and valued piece of the machinery by the time he was in his early twenties. Six years ago, he married; five years ago, a bullet that should've had his name on it found its way to his wife's head, instead. (Rumor and speculation lay the blame at the feet of the Bensonhursts, but nothing can be conclusively proven either way.) He took a sharp turn out of the business and started making some legit money writing penny dreadfuls to get by, but as the five year anniversary rolls around, his old contacts within the family have noticed that he doesn't seem to be shooting down any mention of business in his presence the way he used to, and they're hoping that maybe he's finally ready to come out of his slump. (Just don't ask him if he's ready to meet a new woman yet. You might get punched.)
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: Not a great deal. He's as foulmouthed and grumpy as ever, still deeply loyal to the people who have earned it with him. The biggest change is likely that he's a bit more morally flexible.
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: ...actually, actually do ask him if he's ready to meet a new woman yet, I would love for him to actually punch one of y'all over it. That aside, I'd love for just about anything, but especially anyone who wants to pry into his dead wife issues and his change of heart.

Backstory/Description of new identity: Third generation Bensonhurst enforcer, his family calling was only to ever serve the Family. He's proven the depth of this loyalty on numerous occasions... but never more than on the day he found out his father, mother, and three older siblings were plotting with the feds, to turn on the Family they'd worked so hard to protect. So, to prove his own loyalty, he'd done what needed doing and eliminated the threat. All of them.
He was seventeen at the time, and yet hadn't hesitated at all.
Cold, calculated, and utterly ruthless he may be, yet Zelman maintains something of an 'old world' kind of charisma or charm.
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: Nothing notable really. His role with the family suits his personality rather perfectly...
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: I'd love to have someone test or worm in enough to force him to question the reason for the depths of his loyalty, maybe even make him question it a bit. Just to see how it shakes out.

Backstory/Description of new identity: TBD
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: He's still a bit of an abrasive loner, but more because he's trying to avoid attachments while saving up enough money to move to Hollywood and pursue an acting career...
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: I'm game for anything, really, so hit me up!

Backstory/Description of new identity: Her family being new money, earned in the last generation in part through unspecified but you better believe illicit means, Lydia has a lot to prove - and prove it she does, at every opportunity. Flaunting her wealth and seeking attention at every turn, she spends a lot of time with her friends in the mob, when she'd not making shrewd investments on the sly.
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: Somewhat more attention-seeking than her standard counterpart, but just as attracted to the edge of danger, tbh.
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: I'd love to give Lydia a chance to show her intelligence, particularly in terms of figuring her way out of tricking situations as well as money/investment management. Which is probably not that fun to play out, but there it is if anyone wants it.
Anything Else/: GIVE ME EVERYTHING.

Tohru Adachi
Backstory/Description of new identity: Just like any other good-old-boy American with a dream. He grew up admiring policemen and detectives, only when he finally got his dream, it turned out working as a detective was not as awesome and glamorous as he believed.
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: Not much has changed; if anything he's a little bit more of a jerk.
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: Picking up a sidekick would be hilarious, but some good cop vs. con-man/mob-man shenanigans would be awesome too.

Backstory/Description of new identity: Elijah is the patriarch of the Bensonhurst mob family. He's more than earned his place in the family as he had been groomed to assume the position from a fairly young age and controls it with your standard iron fist. In his time since assuming control, Elijah has done well in maintaining and expanding the family. Those working within the family both fear and respect him (as they damn well should) and they understand the rules he lays down as they are carried out from top to bottom with no exceptions.
The family has always come first for him and, as the name of his role would suggest, he believes the family will only remain strong so long as they hold fast to the traditions that have carried them this far. He's never once hesitated to eliminate a threat to the family either himself or through other means. (As a general policy/rule, Elijah only asks kindly once if he's going to bother at all.) Those that demonstrate that level of loyalty are able to rise in the ranks fairly quickly if they play their cards right. Those that don't or exceedingly disappoint him? Well, you could ask them what happens, but you're likely going to have an extremely hard time finding them. He's not excessively cruel, however. He's willing to offer at least a second chance and maybe even a third chance if you're lucky. But his patience does have limits and it's best to be on the good side of that.
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: There aren't too many significant changes beyond the fact Elijah's a little more ambitious than his normal counterpart in terms of taking what he wants and therefore a little quicker to be more cutthroat. Otherwise, he's about the same. He's difficult to read in terms of what he's thinking or feeling in a particular moment unless he decides to inform you, etc.
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: Man, just about anything and everything you wanna throw at me, I'm good for.
Anything Else?: xoxo

Backstory/Description of new identity: Unlike his vicious progenitor, Armin is refined and educated, usually scorning violence as crude and unnecessary - though he paradoxically also courts danger in a reckless, thrill-seeking kind of way. Moreover, he seems to often find himself - through none of his own doing - in situations that could cause embarrassment to the family.
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: He's more confident and relaxed than usual. He's also more flamboyant, more reckless, and a little more abrasive.
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: Anything, really! Mob relations, both good and bad, con-man type shenanigans, a night on the town, run-ins with the cops, anything!

Backstory/Description of new identity: The delicate, pretty princess of Bensonhurst has remained sheltered from much of their activity, for the sake of keeping her safe until she comes of age, and will be able to handle herself and her families secrets safely. She thinks she has a gist of how things really are, but she has no idea.
In Sansa's mind, however, her family is just unbelievably cruel and overprotective by never letting her know what is exactly going on. She doesn't see the reasons for any of this, and is growing increasingly frustrated with being stuck in her home- so she's been sneaking out more and more lately, trying to get a taste of life on her own. What the family doesn't know won't hurt them, right?
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: She's a little more rebellious, a little more conceited and self-concerned since she's never had the character development her canon provides.
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: Bensonhurst interactions! Also anyone she might meet while she's sneaking out!
Anything Else/:

Martin Blankmerchant of death...look, guys, he is a hitman, and he has no ties to either family.Backstory/Description of new identity: Because I like nods to canon, this iteration of Erik was actually born Max Eisenhardt. He comes from a family of German refugees, all of whom are dead now, but that matters little because absolutely no one knows anything personal about him. As previously mentioned he operates independently as far as professional capacity goes, and he's very good at what he does. Partially this is due to an uncanny affinity for metal objects. WHO KNOWS WHERE THAT CAME FROMjk we all know that.
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: The accent Erik uses in XMFC is kind of
Irishpan-global; this one speaks with a considerably heavier German influence as well as the typical cadences of a person who grew up speaking a lot of Yiddish, what with those languages pretty much being kissing cousins.Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: Uhhhhhhh. It's probably best to start with people who have hired him, because he is if possible even more of a loner. WAY TO CREATE CR, LYNN. --no really, also people who have barreled through his brusqueness to demand frandship??? He's not uh, social, but he does drink, so, you know, the places where that happens he can probably be pinned down.

Backstory/Description of new identity: Garrett has been raised in the ways of the Bensonhurst for a long time now, and plans to follow in the steps of Elijah when it comes time for him to take over. He has immense respect for the man, and loves his family- he'll do just about anything to make sure they stay safe. Garrett is patient (he picked it up from Elijah), but he has a huge distaste for the Gravesend family and wants them gone. They've shed too much blood and too many of his family members have died against these assholes, and Garrett is sick of losing people. He's suggested to Elijah that they wipe out the other family, but has been turned down due to the fact that the Gravesend haven't really made a move against them yet.
Garrett is actually blind in his right eye for this role (and he has that lovely scar trailing up his face like in canon), and his left hand has been stabbed through and healed, leaving a scar behind there as well. Both of these were by Gravesend goons that he ended up killing after they tried to have a go at him in an ambush. Most of the time he has his fedora over his right eye like the sporty asshole that he is. Some of the family members have even taken to calling him "One-Eyed Archie" as a joke.
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: Garrett is incredibly laid back in this personality, he hardly gives off the vibe of a paranoid or extremely skittish thief. Instead, he's clean, suave, sophisticated, and absolutely ruthless. More often than not he's a fox, sly and watching over people constantly, even if he looks relaxed.
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: I am looking for anything! :> Obviously he won't take well to Gravesend folk but otherwise he's a pretty sociable guy for this event.

Backstory/Description of new identity: Aria T'Loak has come a long way. Exactly how she managed to complete the transition from quick-thinking, brash-talking mistress to ruthless head of the Gravesend family is vaguely obscure, but that hardly stops the rumours that her predecessor's very timely demise didn't come about entirely naturally from flying. Her vicious, utterly amoral management of the Gravesend family's assets doesn't do anything to quell them, nor in truth does she want to. On the contrary: reputation is essential, and the power to back it up, imperative -- Aria possesses both in spades. She truly is the femme fatale, the latter especially, and if the former makes a notable appearance it's safer to assume misdirection. That sort of prestidigitation makes her very much, to use a slightly older trope than the setting requests, very much the vamp, a role she doesn't entirely relish but a skill set she will employ remorselessly if it suits her.
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: Not too many, really. She's a little less assured in her position, and therefore much more inclined to viciousness.
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot:
Anything. Positive, negative. For the purposes of CR, Aria is likely to be found keeping an eye on business in Ocean's Place or the Midnight Rose.

Backstory/Description of new identity: Charles is middling-old money, getting a little too old to still be properly a cad with an inheritance but he tries his hardest! He's been in America for five years and hasn't managed to lose all his money or anything, even though in typical Charles fashion he spends half his time finding causes he deems worthy to patronise. Is that the word I want? Let's say it is. Anyway, still a rich, cheerful cad, though he was affected by polio young and his legs never grew properly. He gets about with a wheelchair or braces and a cane if need be. It's alright. He's heard rumours that New York's governor is much the same so he's totally in fashion.
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: This Charles is a bit more carefree than actual Charles, more like his earlier self, and definitely waaay more comfortable with being in a wheelchair because he kind of grew up with it. His accent is also just a bit more, uh. Bertie Wooster.
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: Uh, old friends and so forth, people who Charles won't stop bugging, people who know him as "that guy who talked my ear off about that random scientific topic I didn't even want to know about in the first place".
Anything Else/: LOOK AT ALL THESE ORPHANAGES AND CHILDREN'S HOMES THEY NEED MONEY OH MY GOODNESS THEY NEED MONEY AT THE HOSPITAL TOO NO I AM NOT A SOFT TOUCH.

Stiles Stilinski
Backstory/Description of new identity: he won't say he can't be bought, but his price ain't cheap and he's not looking for a permanent boss other than himself.
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: He's not playing up the ditzy hand waving as much as he does in the present day - he's much more contained.
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: Anything and everything. Hit me with your best shot.
Anything Else/: If you find his hat, don't steal the picture inside it okay? He'll shoot you if you do.

saitou hajime (AU name not necessary)
Backstory/Description of new identity: Saitou's parents came to America a few years before his birth to pursue liberty and prosperity. They found a bit both, though not in excess, and own a garment shop (hats, scarves, accessories, etc) that's fallen on hard times in Coney Island. Between working the family storefront, he also regularly practices and trains others in fencing and Bartitsu. It's rumored that he knows of much more authentic martial arts but refuses to teach.
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: He'll have actual expressions. Beyond that, I don't expect, but situations are fluid? TBD.
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: Any and all, but particularly of the cross-canon variety since he'll go back to only caring about his canonmates between jaunts.
Anything Else: He's a nice kid with a strong morality and a great selection of hats. Come see him!
Re: saitou hajime (AU name not necessary)
Tim & Remy both need hats.
And I think Tim has probably started Bartitsu lessons.

Eridan Ampora
Backstory/Description of new identity: Ran away from an orphanage with his 'sister' Fef when they were both very young, has kept them both alive via a whole lot of illegal grunt work and petty theft. Good at staying under the radar. Looks kind of poncy thanks to his styled hair and carefully maintained jacket. Will actually gut you in a heartbeat if you back him into a corner. Literally nobody knows about the sister.
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: well he thinks he's human, that's a thing. And he probably flirts a tiny bit less. Mostly he's the same boneheaded tenacious dramatic dude.
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: Would love a lot of the shadier people to know of him/have some history of using him as anything and everything from a lookout to a bodydumper to worse. Could be fun to have someone with a low-level grudge against him. Would love somebody he's gradually grown to like enough to occasionally be a helpful informant to. Probably a PI; he wouldn't trust either gangs or cops.
Anything Else/: Creepy fondness for the water and also roses. Pretty nocturnal. Way too skinny. Sings pretty well if you get him drunk enough.
