CHARACTER RECLAIMS

From now until endgame, Synodiporia is closed to new applications.

However, players who dropped or idled characters but who do not have a behavioral strike against them may reclaim characters at any time. Dungeons and app windows are no longer necessary. Simply comment below with "I'd like to bring [character (username)] back!" And we'll take it from there.

Players already at 3 characters who wish to bring back a 4th or 5th may do so so long as they're current on AC. Players wishing to bring in characters above 5 may request special mod permission.

If you are uncertain if you qualify to reclaim, please email us at synodiporians@gmail.com and ask!

For being the seemingly gloomiest, most stoic superhero's first sidekick, Dick's quite a cheerful, friendly, bright young man. He has no problem making friends or reaching out to people, his being observant helping greatly in knowing when someone needs some words of comfort. An early example of this is how he was quick to notice Superboy feeling left out and somewhat depressed from being quickly cast aside by Superman, making the Boy Wonder quickly draw him into the group to introduce him to their newest teammate, Miss Martian. His observant nature sometimes makes keeping secrets impossible for the others, as he's one of the world's greatest detective's prodigy, knowing immediately when Superboy and M'gann hooked up, along with Artemis' secret identity and her criminal relations. That being said, he's not one to divulge everyone's secrets, respecting their privacy even if he might have to comment on the state of affairs with others in the know.

To match with his bright personality, he thoroughly enjoys just about everything he does, even if that means cackling off into the darkness during missions, living life to the full, as it were. When he's 19 in the show he even admits that as Robin he had too much fun on his missions and that he couldn't hold back from laughing because of it. He's also a bit of a... dick at times, teasing his (close) friends when they trip up such as when Wally attempts to flirt with others and insteads blunders about, playing with unwords during serious situations much to the annoyance of others (teammates and villains included), and so on. He's so loyal, friendly and easygoing though that no one can really stay mad at him. This includes all his future ex-girlfriends, leading him to joke as Nightwing that his one superpower is staying friends with all his exes.

He's very loyal to and trusting of his friends, even if it means disobeying Batman's orders not to reveal his secret identity to any other hero - something he did quite early on with Wally, aka Kid Flash. That being said, he usually follows his mentor's orders, not revealing to Artemis that he's Robin even when she joins his school and in turn keeping quiet about her true identity to the others even when Aqualad and Red Arrow discuss with him the possibility of a mole in the team, the latter more in response to Batman's emphasizing that everyone is entitled to a secret identity.

While he originally wanted to become just like Bruce as the Batman, after watching his friends die in a simulation gone wrong thanks to M'gann's strong telepathy, he's come to realise that he can't be that brutally driven, willing to sacrifice everything to succeed. He simply cares too much about his comrades to be okay with throwing their lives down for the greater good. Unfortunately, he looks up to his mentor so much that he's almost ashamed of admitting this apparent weakness, only opening up to the occasional Young Justice Den Mother, Black Canary, during a therapy session following the disastrous training simulation.

He has no trouble interacting with people older than him, being the youngest on the team with the most battle experience as he'd first started accompanying Bruce on missions when he was 9. He can take on the role of cheeky little brother just as easily as the mature masked vigilante, focusing on the task at hand even as he tries to lighten the mood with the odd joke here and there. When their base was under attack and most of their team captured, Artemis began panicking and snapping at him, telling him to quit with his constant quipping of "We can [do x]... OR NOT" as their potential escape routes kept getting blocked off by floods of water and fire. During a momentary pause in fleeing for their lives, she then asked (rather disbelievingly) how he could remain so calm when their friends were close to death to which he responded, "Practice. I've been doing this since I was 9."

Even when he's cracking jokes, he's able to keep his mind in the game to finish his mission objectives, though the multitasking might be more due to his high intelligence, having an uncanny knack for hacking just about every computer system he comes across, being an honoree mathlete by 13, and being able to come up with battle tactics while actually in battle. An example of his ridiculous hacking skills is from the very first episode of the series when he hacked into the Justice League computer database after having only been there for a few minutes ("Same system as the Batcave~") and wreaking havoc with the video security and motion sensors of CADMUS - the secret scientist lair in which he and his friends found Superboy.

This high level intelligence also helps him be incredibly logical at times, to the point of allowing M'gann, whom he didn't remember at the time due to losing his memories of the past 6 months, to essentially hack his mind to help regain his memories as he knew it was the only way to do so quickly, no questions asked. Unfortunately, sometimes he forgets to explain his actions that are, to him, extremely logical. These include vanishing in the middle of a skirmish to scout ahead as he trusted his friends would follow shortly, stopping mid-escape to download the buildings blueprints so he'd be able to navigate the area through the ventilation system, and deliberately keeping knowledge of his teammates being most certainly dead from the surviving members to keep their morale up (luckily this was only during the simulation exercise mentioned before and was ultimately one of the contributing factors to his realising he didn't want to become the Batman anymore).
