From now until endgame, Synodiporia is closed to new applications. However, players who dropped or idled characters but who do not have a behavioral strike against them may reclaim characters at any time. Dungeons and app windows are no longer necessary. Simply comment below with "I'd like to bring [character (username)] back!" And we'll take it from there. Players already at 3 characters who wish to bring back a 4th or 5th may do so so long as they're current on AC. Players wishing to bring in characters above 5 may request special mod permission. Thank you for your interest in Synodiporia! Unfortunately, we're going to have to reject this application. While your writing style is quite good, the actual nuts and bolts of the app require extensive revision, on a level we think would take too long to complete during this app cycle.

*The canon history does not include any information about Godfrey's world, as the blank form states: If apping an original character, please take 500 words minimum to describe their home universe and backstory. There are bits and pieces woven into Godfrey's personal history, but not nearly enough for us to understand his place in the world - for example, what is this 'conflict' that has begun again?

*Canon Personality is far too short: 300-500 words minimum. Especially for OCs, longer is better if you're in doubt. Your existing personality section clocks in at 176 words, which would be too short even for a canon character; we can't get any sense of what motivates Godfrey out of so little. (On a related note, the information you included under 'anything else we should know?' would have been much better suited to Canon Personality.)

*Point of Departure is not only applicable to Godfrey's app, but required for original characters: if OC, AU or PG, please take at least 200 words to explain the differences in background and personality from canon. If an OC, tell us how infiltrating would change your character.

*The Abilities section doesn't give us proper understanding or scope of what Godfrey can achieve with his alchemy.

*For Mark justifications, we prefer to see a sentence or two per Arcana being requested, rather than lumping three of them into one sentence. This makes it easier to try to arrange a good match for your character, as it gives us a better idea of why they fit.

*While your prose sample is pretty strong, it's also considerably longer than it needs to be. The first chunk before the italicized section likely would have been enough on its own.

With all of these problems to be corrected, we feel asking for revisions would not allow you the time to make the caliber of corrections necessary. That said, we did highly enjoy your writing samples and believe you can correct the nuts and bolts of this app, given time. We'd advise you to read over some of the applications we've accepted in the past, especially for OCs, to get a feel for what we're looking for in the sections you need to repair, and try again next app cycle (February/March).

Thanks for your response! It's been a literal decade since I played in a game like this one, so I'm not back into the swing of the mechanics. Maybe I'll look back in after a couple months!
