Illuminant Hunt/Liminal Space Plotting
Other than combat and bargaining prompts, these will be set up to require as little mod intervention as possible. Please do let us know if you’re going to need mod input somewhere else.
I. Fighting Illuminants
Not all of the Illuminants will be perfectly contained by the summoning measures being used. Red, Yellow, Indigo and Violet are all capable of breaking out of containment immediately, or nearly so, and will need to be dealt with as quickly as possible. (Particularly Red, who is potentially capable of undoing bindings on the others.)
II. Source Destruction
As for taking the Illuminants down at their sources, that’ll be a several-pronged affair by necessity:
*Red’s cave contains a dragon whose flame ignores elemental resistance and can inspire rage.
*Orange’s dragon scale would require tracking Orange themself down first, and that is pretty unlikely.
*Yellow’s golden lake needs both the water evaporated and the gold melted down, and both of those things are capable of inflicting jealousy effects on whoever’s dealing with them.
*Green’s tree has elemental creatures defending it, but should otherwise be fairly simple. The same is true of Blue’s frozen lake.
*Indigo’s library resists magical attacks, and can summon magical constructs to fight back. This is also a prime opportunity to raid some books.
*Violet’s source is twofold, as Violet draws both from the throne of Dolorosa and the royal family line. PLEASE NOTE, when planning who will deal with this source, whether the individuals or group intend to attack the queen directly (which will mean having to fight Griffon Knights) or leave her be (which may allow for Violet’s survival).
III. Bargaining with Rose
We don’t know where Rose’s source is. Rose also doesn’t want to hurt anyone, and isn’t capable of getting out of captivity unaided.
She’s willing to trade for her freedom, and share everything she knows about Orange’s location in exchange. It’s up to the Travelers whether they want to take this bargain.
IV. Meanwhile, in Liminal Space…
Potential avenues for exploration in Liminal proper include, but are not necessarily limited to: The dual nature of Liminal Space; the Floor and ectoplasm; how Familiar Faces function as anchors; the function of dungeon spaces.
We are also more than happy to explore whatever deep-dive questions you have about Liminal Space’s inner workings, so if you’d like to poke at something that’s not listed here, let us know and we’ll incorporate it!

so please keep her alive, but once shit hits the fan, she can act as a debuff bard with Siren Song, which she'll be using to afflict the Illuminants with conditions/emotions counter to their source of power. She also has Questing Country spells to twist an area into a nightmarescape - and to turn people against their allies, if we end up having to deal with more than one evil wizard at once.no subject

... And if he needs to escape he's going to use his fae form and gtfo.

If Violet survived, they could re-establish the link.

...Actually, let me put this question in the correct place.

That said, would System Crash work on the library in any way? I don't remember if I asked this earlier.

The resistance to magic, alas, would not be disrupted.

Re: II. Source Destruction
She's also very good with poisons and is very used to having to put down angry elementals.

Oh duh also Siren Song, though if anyone's coming with him he'll warn them first.

The throne is theoretically easier to deal with, in that it could probably be Declarified or destroyed, although he'd still rather explain this to the Queen first if there's the opportunity.

Re: IV. Meanwhile, in Liminal Space...
Open them, and they'll read as totally null - not grounded, but neutral, almost invisible - except that if they are open, and whatever object is inside them has not been taken out, they will start to close again.
If they are opened, a new object is placed inside, and current is run through them, they will start to close - as long as that item has been made liminally permanent or stable. If it hasn't, both the item and the egg will puff into nonexistence.

DIGNITY: THE GAP BETWEEN PEOPLE:Nobody really knows each other. Once a week (after the Jaunt, once a Jaunt), you may transfer one end of any magical bond or relationship which connects two or more beings, selecting a new person or spirit for it to connect to. If the newly connected targets are willing, this is permanent. If unwilling, it lasts until you release it or use the power again. This also gives him the ability to detect or perceive other people's bonds via close contact, either by observing them at close range or making skin contact; however, this ability does not extend to Arcana bonds/Marked Harmony. Plot Infiltrator-exclusive skill.

But it would work if Violet was bodily dead.
It would not work on the bond to the throne itself, or if the Queen was dead (although killing the Queen would break that bond and make the skill use unnecessary).

There's time if people take the time - how skeptical the queen will be will depend too much on specifics to be predicted in advance.
