July-August Plot Poking Post

Plotting may move from this location if something needs to be kept under wraps until it happens, but we will provide public confirmation that a discussion will follow, if that’s necessary.

If you want to use a Plot-Poking Skill, please still report that over here, and note on this post that you have done so. That way, if results need to be kept under wraps until the IC reveal, we can do so, but still have accountability here.

This includes any non-introductory Conversation Space expeditions (comments about Judgement Plot are appreciated, but not strictly necessary). The mods also need to go through this process if their characters are going to poke a thing.

Cassandra, as ever, will be using Heroic Age Fortune-Telling to look for omens and portents on the Jaunt or in Liminal Space this week (and probably every week).

No omens on the Jaunt itself!

The symbolism in Liminal Space seems not to correlate to the Jaunt, and she could easily guess that it's omens for the walkabout instead.

Sadly, Cassandra currently lacks Psychic Bridge and has no way to communicate any omens to that side.

Would there have been any on the pre-Jaunt Liminal? I did ask, but never got an answer.

I put in for a Prophetic Nightmare and forgot to note it here - my mistake!

He'll dream of a tremor in the water, traveling deeper, until it strikes the ocean floor, and a great gout of blood rises up from the bottom of the sea, slowly turning into strangling tentacles as it rises.

I also put in for a prophetic nightmare for Raidou, but I don't think this post was up yet, or else I missed it.

Any omens or portents for Cassandra for week 2?

Despite possibly being a natural phenomenon, all the red flooding is a clear omen of impending bloodshed.

Cassandra and Kinji are going diving (as much as they can, given the circumstances) to see if they can find any clues about the source of the algae and red crabs. Cassandra does have Oracular Knowledge of The Hunt, although I don't know if that will help at all in terms of finding their quarry when they're not sure what their quarry is.

They're coming from deep underwater past the coastal shelf to the northwest - but that isn't necessarily a help, as that's where most of the prevailing currents in the water come from.

Also, Haneul is talking to ghosts around the docks (when he can get away with it) about what they might or might not have seen regarding the mixed-up shimpements.

He could get a description of at least one member of the other faction! As for which member - plot with those players and pick one!

Sorry for the delay in response.

She'll get a sense of ongoing watchfulness from the omens, but nothing specific.

Also, do the dead have any interesting tidbits to share this week?

Not in particular, but it's possible to use them to observe groups of revelers remotely.

Cassandra is still looking for omens and portents, and Haneul is still checking in with the dead. Would there be anything of interest for either of them this upcoming week?

(Edit to add that as of week 4, Haneul is now with the Crownbreakers. He's still talking to ghosts, though, and would probably ask them to keep track of the Xunhuo Guwei at the very least. Could they infiltrate the Xiangfan Woniu at all? I'm also assuming most of them are Paramoese, and probably not here for attacks on same, no matter what purpose it's for.)

Ghosts could get aboard the Xiangfan Woniu, yes. Be sure to plot with those players about the results!

Omen-wise, she'll get a sense that the omens are uncertain - that anything could happen, and fate does not know what.

Thalassian scouts doing forward recon - and transplanting coral & building in shallower water than usual. It looks like they used the wake of that red tide to clear out troublesome wildlife to let them expand and set up forward outposts.

Mattmod here - given that I'm in the first week of a new job, if he's just doing recon, I'd rather not; but I can provide more detail as needed.

if he's actually going to interact with these forward bases, then yes, I can thread it out.
