May-June Plot Poking Post
If you would like to dig around in the deep end of this jaunt’s plot, or prod metaplot sometime during this jaunt’s duration, please leave us a comment here. Plotting may move from this location if something needs to be kept under wraps until it happens, but we will provide public confirmation that a discussion will follow, if that’s necessary.
If you want to use a Plot-Poking Skill, please still report that over here, and note on this post that you have done so. That way, if results need to be kept under wraps until the IC reveal, we can do so, but still have accountability here.
This includes any non-introductory Conversation Space expeditions (comments about Judgement Plot are appreciated, but not strictly necessary). The mods also need to go through this process if their characters are going to poke a thing.

"C'mon, the gods could be right there... Wouldn't it be amazing to meet them? If we could just get inside..." Energetic thing.

But! If one goes down towards the "isle" part of the structure and pokes around, it will be revealed not to be an island at all. There's deposits of sand and minerals that make it look like rock, but under that layer it's all more machinery that appears to go all the way down to the bottom.

Same with the machinery at the bottom, as well!
On a smaller, possibly more amusing note, if Firo ever gets bored, he probably makes a habit of chasing/catching midges just to see what they do.

The machinery under the deposits is more of the same with smooth metal and unmarked touch panels requiring specific codes/patterns in places that are unlikely to be accidentally touched. But they're much, much less common below the level of the courtyard. One would have to go under the water to find anything different. And it's not recommended. It's rare for needle-fish to leave the bay, but they can, and they're an awful lot like sharks in that they're attracted to movement in the water.

Anyways, I'm guessing claws and the like would be unlikely to be able to pry any panels or doors open?
Firo would not dare to get into the water for long. As much as he likes swimming, he'd rather not risk his life with those terrifying fish in there.

Yeah, the metal is a good bit stronger than claws, unfortunately and the seems are very, very small. A delicate but strong metal tool (steel at the very least) might be able to do it, but nothing the folk can make is capable.
The water is very dangerous, but it also holds secrets! If he does go swimming and attempts to dive below the surface a bit, leave a comment here! He might find something interesting!

But I can absolutely see him accidentally discovering magnets, haha. I would be very amused, and will see if I can get him out there.

following the mountains near Home will eventually get to the sea-side caverns, right? is there anything to be found there, plot-wise or no? Firo would doubtlessly be wandering there to forage and explore.
no subject
There are a few caves above water, and some of them have signs that people lived in them once, if briefly. One has to get really deep in, past several narrow points, however.

He will be very curious about signs of people living there, and where they went. Might ask the elders.
