Unquiet Dead: Final Summary
Week I
James attempts to reassure the tourists and townsfolk in the face of their grief and his own suspicions of impending disaster. Artie struggles to come to terms with her own death. Zed goes about the important business of terrorizing the locals and recruiting minions to his banner. Skye attempts to lure in believers in the supernatural. Father Anthony attempts to drive out malign influences in the cemetary, and ease the minds of the locals. Ace grows suspicious of the new spirits in town, and what they might mean for his descendants. Elle has her own private memorial under cover of darkness. Anton and Danielle begin their
Strange dreams haunt both newcomers and locals. Madoka, Matthew, and Raidou dream of Bastet. Souji dreams about a cat.
Kris films the funeral, and a canine possession, and an eldritch protection lesson, and a handful of ghost stories. Hannah searches for proof of the supernatural influences in town. A starving horror - or a lost child - stalks the moors on the edge of town.
Pearl tries to piece together the best way to contact the local spirits. Casper seeks out ghosts in the cemetary. In contrast, Matthew does everything he can to avoid the ghosts - including hopping a train to London. Riddick looks for signs of the horrors that plagued the last visit to Harrogate. Raidou becomes the first victim of the unquiet dead.
Armin attempts to coordinate memory restorations, and offers general information on the Harrogate of the 21st century. Maria fills the other ghostvestigators in on who amongst the living can see them. Geralt summarizes the Network chatter regarding the previous visit to Harrogate. Casper discloses the presence of ghost Travelers, and shares a disturbing dream. Kohaku shares her own too-real nightmare. Armin makes contact with the ghost-side Investigators.
Week II
A sinkhole opens at the intersection of Hookstone and Hornbeam, allowing a glimpse of the relics of Harrogate's unpleasant past.
Zed taunts the living exploring the sinkhole, and when he tires of that, moves on to attempting murder by taxi. James attempts to discreetly ward Thistle House against unnatural interference to create a safe haven from the coming storm. Father Brown prepares for a fight against malevolent entities, and patrols the area around the sinkhole for signs of demonic influence. Ace recognizes the uncovered relics for what they are, and attempts to warn off any overly intrepid explorers. Skye and Kris film their exploration of the sinkhole. Elle provides medical assistance to those injured in the collapse - or foolish enough to go down into the hole voluntarily - but otherwise continues to keep to herself.
Down in the burnt-out streets of old Harrogate, Innkeeper Laing is still searching for his son.
Those who venture into the burnt-out husk of the Harrogate theatre encounter things more troubling than lonely wanderers: a horde of tattered spirits, violent poltergeists, children's rhymes and reeking whirlwinds, electronic interference and distorted echoes, phantom smoke and floors that leak pus.
And while the explorers dare the sinkhole in Harrogate, Matthew and Riddick attempt to get in contact with Death of the Arcana - and find themselves in what might be a dead Arcana's space instead.
Raidou's attempts to continue his investigations Deathside are disrupted by disquieting visions. Alcuin's nocturnal excursions draw unfriendly attention from the local "health inspectors". Beatrice makes use of haunting as a method for passing messages to the Investigators on the living side.
Jason tries to get an explanation on the sudden diminishment of the psychic network. Some time later, Riddick gives a possible partial explanation, which probably isn't comforting to anyone.
Week III
Agent Delaney fields questions about the imposition of the quarantine. Skye works to get the truth out about the haunting of Harrogate. Zed attempts to recruit more subjects, both by dream visitation and vehicular homicide. James wards his inn against unnatural intruders. Father Brown offers shelter from the hauntings at the monastery. Elle attempts to make contact with her dead wife, and shares some suspicions with the local authorities. Bernkastel continues to promote the idea that Zed is the power in Harrogate, while her minions stalk the living. Ace seeks to warn his descendents of the oncoming storm. Artie works to soothe the fears of the dead and the living.
As the lockdown continues, Agents Delaney and Sigal bring in vandals and suspicious tourists both in hopes of getting to the bottom of what they now suspect is an elaborate con rather than a terrorist attack. This culminates in a confrontation at Thorne's cottage, in which Alcuin is shot, and Anafiel Delaunay is restored to the driver's seat.
Father Brown and his allies exorcise the ruins of Harrogate Theatre. Alcuin leads a group of Investigators to deal with the problem of the fountain in the sinkhole - the end result of which is Armin absorbing the eldritch power. Death discovers that something is blocking the dead from being sent onward.
Week IV
Elle and Artie resolve their separation with a bit of mutually agreed upon possession. Thistle House remains a haven in the storm, and James confesses that the reason this is so is that he's known about the darkness of Harrogate's history for some time. Zed comes to the realization that something is amiss in his empire. Agent Delaney struggles with the inexplicable events at hand. Father Brown devises a clever holy water delivery system for use against the storm of ghosts.
Armin investigates the song drawing in the dead, and discovers the identity of the power behind Bernkastel - and that there's levels of being dead. Matthew and Malik's investigation goes somewhat better, leaving Malik alive to report, if gravely injured.
Finally, the Travelers confront Nyarlathotep-in-Bernkastel, armed with protective wards, Siren Song, and otherworldly magic, with teleportation for necessary exits. In the end, Death sends Bernkastel on to whatever waits beyond the veil.
