Week 3 Summary/Week 4 Plotting!
Week 3:
The Tinkers’ Faire brings with it all sorts of shopping opportunities, but it’s far from the only thing going on in January.
Matthew looks for information to better arm himself for sneaking into the city council building, in an effort to find out whether the old quarantine is still necessary; Toby and Tybalt invite themselves along, after which Toby provides an update. Poor Daneel, having watched Ambrose disappear in his botched attempt to pull off an infiltrator persona, alerts the network. Naoki gets the Science ball rolling. Han tries to figure out what’s up with the guarded facility. Lyall is stuck minding a table as part of his apprenticeship. Jolie continues snooping about on Verena’s behalf. Jaina is just plain loving the faire. Jules freaks out about Thorn’s broadsheet and stakes out the guarded facility. Kenzaki seems to be having tremendous difficulty with his lifestyle. Maria goes shopping and tries to get Matthew to teach her to make her own candy. Cassandra does her best to keep an eye on her friends.
Ciara splits a table with Iza, with a little help from his sisters. Melisande procures some goods for Imri. Ammy staffs a table for the liquor store, does a little shopping… and runs into her birth brother. Kastor’s attention is mainly focused on getting the 24-hour concert off the ground, with a daytime assist from Tomi. Almast spends more time looking at other people’s work than manning his own table. Cor ambushes him with small children. Later, Almast discusses going on the Duskling diet, inspired by some information from Kenzaki. Nio has lunch with his grandfather, and helps get the wedding organised. Phadrig wheels and deals, as is his standard. Beatrice takes full advantage of the faire’s business opportunities, and gets an eye on the results of the guarded facility’s work. Roderik stakes out the guarded facility, in return for Huxian taking up the digging-through-paperwork he’d rather not do himself. Dara runs errands, including one she hopes she won’t have to run again. Iza is more than a little dumbfounded by his success at the faire. Thorn is feeling the effects of the Duskling diet, and eventually confronts Melissa over her involvement in the cover-up. Tobi helps Matthew distribute some flyers. Atos gets arrested.
And then, of course, there’s Elphaba and Zak’s wedding, in which drinks are drunk (or not until well after the ceremony, if you’re Jules), a good time is had by all, and a surprise officiant steals Helena’s ceremonial duties…
NEXT WEEK: The city council is having a public meeting, and they’ve got some ‘splaining to do… not least because Tobi’s seen to it that every non-council-member PC, at the first least, has that flyer Matthew put together with the results of his research. The flyer includes copies of council documents about the uptick in people immune to the food supplements, information about the Silverman family’s bribes and other unscrupulous dealings, and some details about the Tithe.
LIMINAL SPACE
(this seems backwards)
The ocean of whiteness that covered Liminal Space at the explosion of the snowcano has melted, revealing the chessboard floor again, but it seems now that the demarcations between black and white squares are much blurrier now, fading to grey along the edges, and as the week goes forward those grey edges seem to increase in size.
Around the tall grey marbles are twined vines, laden with ripe fruit and vegetables. Sadly, it's liminal fruit, which means that while you can try to eat it, it'll disappear before it gets to your stomach.
The hollowed out inside of the snowcano, instead of having a chapel made of ice, now contains a meeting hall made of carved turnip.
QUESTIONS/ADDITIONS
no subject
ETA second question, would councilmembers have been allowed to share the big secret with family? Or are husbands/cousins/etc in the dark as well?
no subject
There's not a set rule against council members telling their family members what's going on, but it's generally Not Done and can get them in trouble if they do and their colleagues find out. Council family members would be the first tier of people eliminated from the deliveries, if there turn out to not be enough envelopes, and family living in the same house as said council members wouldn't be getting one anyway.

Zoe is on damage control during/after the council meeting, and possibly sticking to her house a lot for a while here, just in case >.> Because um. Yeah. I'm not sure her husband even knows about this, so life might get... interesting for her for a while.
Jolie continues to run messages, but looks like she's part of the conspiracy to deliver those letters of MAtthew's, which is fun :D Anybody want her to be the one handing their note to them? C'mon, you know you want the tentacle-girl grinning at you while you read this conspiracy theory stuff, right?
Aaaand I have no idea really what Lyall is doing besides watching the public council meeting and working at Almast's shop. If anybody wants anything, let me now.

Isolda/Istas will be on guard at the meeting! I'm assuming she's not getting any copies of the council documents, so she's going to be in the dark. Carnage may or may not happen, depending on how things go down.

Will Jaina have a top level at all? Matthew might have one hanging out in liminal, I just haven't figured it out yet. But we could thread out him asking her

He and Cor will also be going in masked vigilante mode to the families they've given assistive tech to to tell them about the food.
Re: PLOTTING
Phillip will... hopefully be active than he's been, sob. He'll be at the council meeting and keeping an eye out for People. Aoi may or may not pull a dirty trick thanks to the siren voice Phillip's got stored in his choker from last Jaunt to sliiightly manipulate people's feels if need be. This is obviously an opt-outable thing, and we'll see how much it's even needed by the time the mingle comes around.

Ciara will be... sticking to her regular routine since Atos being dumb enough to get arrested means Verena's put tails on his family. :| As such, she won't be giving them anything interesting to see.

Zed is going to be working on the amazing new play he's writing about that great wedding that just went down, and then he's going to be dealing with the whole revelation about the food. I'm...not actually sure how he's going to handle that, probably. He may be level-headed for once, go talk to Zoe first before he figures out how he wants to feel. Also, I think this week will be when Mr. Sparkles gets out of Liminal and has a bit of fun out in the real world.
Hajime/Cor is going to be starting on the Duskling diet after Almast has been on it for a week, and by the end of the week, he's going to start trying to temporarily cover for the changes in his vision. This will involve a fake cast and being a general derp, pretty much. (No one suspects him of being a masked vigilante who is very ready to overthrow the entire government when he's got a foot in a cast, right?)

Beatrice is going to get brought up short by this whole medical fiasco, not least because the food additives nearly poisoned her to death as a kid and caused her family to effectively disown her. Anyone agitating for rebellion against the Council will have an easy time convincing a very skilled smuggler to aid them, but I have no specific plans. Fortunately, this Beatrice isn't similar enough to the real article to start busting out government assassinations for the third time...
Actually, it occurs to me as it will occur to her that organic food is going to become a stupidly hot commodity. She's so disgusted with the situation that she might start buying it up and giving it away as opposed to her usual monetary exploitation, at least for kids.
Rise is also shocked and appalled but much more likely to stay in her lane. Maybe show up to the council meeting, maybe try to start working politics into her music. She's just kinda here being smoopy this Jaunt and this may be enough to actually distract her from that.

...He might be coming up with ideas to work into the show, though.
