State of the Game Update (not final).

We've gotten some great feedback on the SotG post, but there's still two days to weigh in and we still haven't heard from three-quarters of the game! We'd really like to get a few more voices in there, especially on hotly contested points like Secondary Skills, Cast Caps & Jaunt Density, where opinion is split almost evenly or very few players have weighed in. Don't let us decide for you or without you, guys!

Opinion is united so far that Walkabouts should be tried again, but offered at the same time initial Jaunt plotting goes up. Opinion is ALSO unanimous so far that we need to push Lightning Age back and run something light-hearted with less metaplot in the meantime.

So, we present for your voting here two options for the replacement July-August jaunt. Voting on these will be open until 11:59 PM June 29th to give us time to write the new plot before we have to launch it!

Option A: ESCAPE FROM JUNKWORLD (Space Opera Jaunt)

A rag-tag band of refugees, human and alien, salvage a pair of mysterious alien derelict vessels left on a junk planet and head off into the universe at large, racing a stellar natural disaster they understand as little as the technology of the ships they pilot. Majestic science fiction playing fast and loose with science, swashbuckling and epic but deeply personal and character-focused, this jaunt would (temporarily) separate characters geographically, but not by faction - everyone would be working together for the common good.

Option B: QUESTING COUNTRY (Magical Girls In Wonderland Jaunt)

Journeying from their homeworlds into a realm literally made of imagination, magical girls meet and compete their way through a gauntlet of riddles, bonding exercises, and abstract challenges, each hoping to make their Heart’s Desire come true by unlocking the power this ordeal can provide to the worthy. Upbeat, personal, and nonlethal, this jaunt would let characters self-sort during the Jaunt into small teams, rivals but not enemies.

Vote for A or B below, and please let us hear from you on the SotG if we haven't yet!

As much fun as magical girl nonsense would be, I'm far more invested in making up aliens. (Treasure Planet meets Mass Effect anyone?)

I'm also going to echo the concerns that self sorting in the magical girl one would bring on more of a "cliquey" feeling in people, as well as the fact that even if its more rivalry than enemies still being fighting against one another.
