About half a ton of biscuit, two hundred fifty pounds dried fish, a couple
wheels of cheese, and plenty of fresh water 'seasoned' with rum to keep it
potable.
Does the Cornu have a galley/kitchen? It'd be something like THIS, except less advanced, and would have a funnel that exits out of one part of a deck. I would assume it would have one, but just in case.
Does the Cornu have any rats? They're pretty common, so I thought I would ask. If so, how many in a general sense? I was thinking a light infestation might make the most sense since there hasn't been too much screaming about rats.
I mean, Guenhwyvar and other animal friends have probably been hunting them if they exist.
.... Well that is gonna be interesting. NEW OLD SHIP. That could be an interesting problem to explain away if anyone experienced got curious. Unless they just assumed we had a special new way to clean it.
Quick, does anyone want to distress a ship? And Drizzt wouldn't even think to ask if the ship looked old on the bottom. WHELP.
I guess additional question: does the ship have that "new ship" look? AKA no weathering, no patch jobs, etc?
... Of course now I'm wondering if there are rodents on the island that might swim to the Cornu. Or rats that colonized the island from the ships and now they're infesting the island. Or tropical rodents of some nature.
Also if there are rodents, are they diseased?
(Because if there is, I'm starting Rat Discourse.)
... Actually what sort of animals are ON THE ISLAND in general. (Maybe I should make that a standard question I always ask now, sorry!)
Edit for way too many questions: Are the animals affected by the deep song? How about spirit animals/companions?
There would be rats from the previous ships, as well as some other native
island fauna. At this time they would not be diseased. I will get a list
of what sorts of creatures on the island to you ASAP.
Oh god they're gonna have to worry about rats taking over the island, right? Because that is.. what generally happens after introduction....
Also at this time, whoops, oh no. But it's good that they're not actually Stricken since that's basically the end of the Jaunt right there. Everyone gets eaten by rats, the end, as someone put it.
Also, I guess plants, too, because damnit Green Ranger. Maybe just find an island that you like the flora/fauna of and call it a day? I don't want to be too much of a headache, lmao.
There would already have been Pacific Rats on Crownbreaker - there have been shipwrecks on the shoals for centuries, so the local ecosystem has long since adapted, although there are pretty much no other local mammals except some small monkey populations that don't do so well, and alarmingly large, fat guinea pigs (both of which must be leftovers from shipwrecks).
There is one freshwater fish in the interior region; the grey mullet.
There are crabs (including coconut crabs one meter across), urchins, starfish, tuna, porpoises, and coral in the waters, along with many smaller fish I won't bother enumerating.
Birdwise, there are tropical doves and pigeons, terns and gulls, and a wide variety of parrots, budgies, cockatiels, etc. The largest local bird is an albatross.

Also, is it going to have any gold? Any goods to trade? Asking because I realized I forgot lmao
Re: QUESTIONS
Investigators will have a few coins on them, as usual, but no trade goods on the ship, alas.

Cutlasses, axes, knives, and fishing spears will be in weapons lockers!

No, weathering and patch jobs are there. It's just infestations of living creatures that are lacking.

Notable plants: date palms, coconut trees, bulrushes, strangler figs, toromiro trees, soldierbush, magos, guavas, tapioca, liana vines.
In general, small Polynesian islands and atolls are a good model for what's likely to be found here.

And that's a lot of detail—exactly what I needed. Thank you so very much. I'll put this to good use!
Edit: also noting here tarantulas and other arthropods of unusual size are also on the islands from what Matt just told me on plurk.

If there were, someone suggested the Deepsqueak for their affliction. Just saving it for posterity.
