From now until endgame, Synodiporia is closed to new applications. However, players who dropped or idled characters but who do not have a behavioral strike against them may reclaim characters at any time. Dungeons and app windows are no longer necessary. Simply comment below with "I'd like to bring [character (username)] back!" And we'll take it from there. Players already at 3 characters who wish to bring back a 4th or 5th may do so so long as they're current on AC. Players wishing to bring in characters above 5 may request special mod permission. Yubsie's cap choice for Jaina was a straight beeline to Psychic Detection I (so, Sensory Livestreaming and Eavesdropping). Given that Anakin's a very strong Force user, we'd have no problem with you taking a psychic skill with two or three prerequisites as one of your choices, or with taking four psychic skills.

In the Dishonour skills, I'd say that Ninja Acrobatics (particularly the jumping, climbing, and gymnastics - this guy's basic role call involves a ridiculous flip, and half his evasive moves consist of 'can't hit me if you can't tell where I'm somersaulting next') and Weaponry would be the ones he'd have as a result of training his whole life, and I think that would also cover his swordplay skills? ...he tends to be a more refined duelist than his teammates, but not to the extent that I think Swordsmanship would apply.

Superlative Stealth I think would also be needed for the whole 'ninja' thing. He's also very likely trained in survival, but canon doesn't give any very strong reasoning for him to qualify for Survivalism other than general 'actually this episode needs someone to be able to do some tracking so we can advance the plot' and even then it's largely handwaved.

Since he relies on his goton-nin shuriken and magic for elements, I don't think he qualifies for Elementism at all.

Speaking of magic, though! Are there going to be caps on that as well? And regarding hammerspace - would he and Kinji (...and any other Ninninger that I can only dream of playing with) default to shared hammerspace, or do they get their own solo hammerspaces?

We'll have to do a little further digging on the magic to determine an appropriate powercap.

Those Code of Dishonor skills check out as equivalences, so don't forget to add them to your powercap report once we've got it all sorted!

Cloud and Kinji will start out with their own separate Hammerspaces, but they could potentially take a combo skill to link them up, if you're both interested in it.

And finally, one of our more canon-conversant mods noted that since the canon mechas have a non-hammerspace location in the canon universe, Cloud wouldn't be able to summon them.

Yup, canon has shown the otomo-nin/mechas can't be accessed from other dimensions/within illusions/anywhere other than home! Except for that one Drive crossover movie, but I'm also fairly certain the writers were ignoring their own restrictions for the sake of convenience for a lot of that movie. I put all of their shuriken in the 'totally useless away from home' section of his inventory, but probably should have specified that they're useless because they require more than just him to work. (If... that makes sense.) They'll be cool paperweights, but no good for much else.

I'm not sure how magic's working for the other users in game, but would a sort of... exhaustion system work? Canon really doesn't touch on it at all, but there is a part where his wand gets snapped and Yakumo's response is that he appears to feel a physical pain in his chest; implying that he's actually somehow connected to the wand. Drawing from that, could possibly pull it to "[x] spells per day, the more difficult the more exhausted, don't go knocking yourself out" sort of deal?

As far as the magic goes, it was more a matter of examining similar powercaps given in the past. And the conclusion we reached was: We'd prefer you not use magic to achieve something available on the Liminal or Telepathic skill trees, and if an exception comes up and makes sense, run it by the mods before proceeding.

You're probably about to answer this anyway but how do I go about the powercap report?

Unfortunately, we're going to have to decline this application.

This is not due to the AU nature of the app; but rather to the fact that the app describes a character who does not seem to match Mako Tsunami/Ryota Kajiki in temperament. An open, friendly (if outspoken) character who was no less even-tempered and no more smug than most other melodramatic duelists is described having an excess/opposite of those traits; and his personality section does not mention his boisterous confidence, nor his fixation on searching for his father, a major element (perhaps the single defining element) of his characterization in the series. While some of this might be explicable due to the AU nature of the character, none of these changes are detailed as 'points of departure.'

Since your description of the character does seem to match the character as you have written him, just not as the series wrote him, we cannot accept this version of Mako. You are still more than welcome to apply at Synodiporia with any other character in a future application round. Thank you for taking the time to apply.

Teleportation I is great! Any chance he can get Portal Creation (Stationary) as well? The two of them combined pretty much sum up what he does with the Corridors in canon. (Minus the distance, obviously, but he can normally stroll between different worlds and such.)

I don't really see how my writing "a bit" counts as saying that he has an excess of those traits, and I actually added in those parts after doing another canon review of his scenes. As a matter of fact, I was trying to indicate that he displays less of those traits than some of the other characters do. I feel my second paragraph does also describe his friendly nature.

I admit that not putting in his boisterous confidence or his search for his father was on me, although I did try to capture his boisterous side in my non-threaded writing sample. However, these are things that I find could easily have been changed with a revision, instead of an outright rejection.

After deliberation, we simply do not agree that a revision would be adequate. It seems to us that you write the character consistent with your description of the character, but that your description of the character as a whole does not match the character as described in canon. When we find a discrepancy that large, we generally do not ask for revisions.

And regardless, our determination on an application is not something we debate or appeal.

That sounds fine to me! How high level can they be? Because if I'm not restricted, I'm fairly sure that Infiltrator Mind Trick would be the best replacement for Jedi Mind Trick.

Do I still get my three Veteran skills as well?

ETA: Also, considering Luke's canon, ought I see if he has skill equivalencies for Spark and Junkworld jaunt skills. (Given how close Jedi can be to Conditioned, I mean.)
