Lots of things are blamed on the gods' anger: sudden terrible turns in the weather, crop diseases with sudden onset, the springs suddenly becoming contaminated, fast spreading illnesses that crop up without warning, sudden fish die-off etc etc (and a good portion of those *are* caused by the gods... But not necessarily out of anger)
