For forest folk - is a dog an acceptable species, or would it have to be like 'wolf' or something?

Also if Bob the raven comes along with Casper on this Jaunt, will forest folk be able to understand him, will he be 'some weird bird we can't understand', or something else? I dunno if they can all Speak Disney or something, or if he'd be treated as someone who went feral.

Alternatively is it possible for him to investigate, too? Not sure if that'd be allowed.
