Plotting Post (or, here's another disaster)
This is a little belated because my ducks need rowing lessons, but:
Roughly 36 hours after the Corona starts to slow down and complain like its aft hull is going to peel off, the ship's systems are going to detect a serious containment error in the sublight drive (or, in other words, a giant nuclear catastrophe - alarms, screaming, we're all going to die, all that fun stuff).
Bela/Sabetha's going to call for a general evacuation through the portals still popping up on the ship, and will be tapping some of the ship's bruisers to herd people off into whatever's on the other side of the nearest portal if they look to want to give themselves massive radiation poisoning.
She and a couple other members of the crew (Rosalie and Raidou, currently) will be staying behind with the reasoning that someone needs to either shut down or jettison the drive before it can do something even more horrifying - like, say, fail spectacularly enough to make the backwash from the Empress's power conduits look like a mild spring day. Since they can't be sure the portals will continue to exist once the engines are shut down, this will be presented as a probable suicide mission.
If anyone wants to help play brute squad, or wants to stubbornly hide out on an apparently more than slightly irradiated ship, lemme know.
(Empress, everyone in Liminal Space, apologies for the imminent invasion.)
