In the barely restrained chaos of the "library," Lydain may seem a little at loose ends; she's slipped away from the little knots of other humanities and history students, and now carefully walks along the outer walls of this level of the parking garage, ducking and scurrying from cover to cover, trying to avoid giving any kind of target to the attackers outside. Once or twice a spare crossbow bolt passes through an opening that, a moment ago, she hadn't been able to quite avoid; she pauses and catches her breath with her back to a reassuringly solid patch of concrete before moving on.
Finally she finds what she's looking for in a corner of the building, behind a couple of long-rusted out vehicles, which she clambers over to get to the bank of smoothly closed doors and long-dark buttons - elevators, long out of service. Coming in, she'd noticed a blocked ramp going down from ground level, though she's not found any passable stairwells going down. Lydain's not sure how many subterranean levels the garage has, or if there is - or ever was - any access to other buildings, but surely any reasonably civilized species would build down as well as up? Maybe there's a way out that the attackers haven't thought to cover.
She just needs to figure out how to get into the elevator shaft, and "wedge her fingers in and put her shoulder into trying to pry the door open" doesn't seem to be doing anything useful.

If Lydain's classmate knows anything about her - and they should, shouldn't they, they've been sharing a classroom all year - it's that she's kind of weirdly intense and she doesn't handle setbacks well. Also that she's very goth and wears far too much stark white foundation and doesn't physically emote a lot - although she's not above taking advantage of S. Tech to make her moods apparent. And also, now, that they've been paired up for the exam, I guess.
She is, if anything, a little impatient to get this over with. Hopefully whoever she's been paired up with is at least minimally competent.
